Most of us know that gatherbuddy is rather insecure atm. I havent dared to used it since I started playing WoW again a couple of months back. But to those of you who still do it, and manage to stay under blizzards radar, whats your tricks? How many hours do you run it? What do you do with the mats? What profiles do you use? what plugins do you use? Would really appriciate answers by as many players as possible Thank you.
I use a variety of public profiles on my Druid. I set it to run until bags are full and then hearth and exit. Usually around 2-3 hours. I have mining and herbing bags. I normally start it before I go to bed. I have monitored all of my profiles several hundred times 100% before I was happy afk. No plugins. Half my mats go to AH raw. Other half to my inscription/ JC. So in short I bot maybe 3 hours a day max. ( I'm not greedy) Not once since I started playing in TBC have I been banned or suspended.
there have been this random profiles from robot like: randomBuddy - Generate v2 some people say they are also risky because they are random and you could stuck
Well, i used gatherbuddy with the randombuddy plugin. Always made sure my bots weren running for longer than 2.5 hours straight while farming ore and herbs. Was Always running 2 bots run and have multiple herb/mine toons on each of my 3 accounts. The farmed ore goes to the jc/ench char to shuffle. Herbs go the scribe/alchy char.
Gatherbuddy is never safe - nomatter how you use it.. the more time you gather = more time other people could report you = the more chance a GM will popup and monitor for 3rd party programs active. It's that simple really - it's just a bloody matter of luck some get banned in 1 hour and some bot 24 hours and last two months ... so I don't get the posts where people are trying to get a perfect system going.
