      hey guys and girls,

as you know the latest HB release is clashing with various anti-virus programs and/or system files/framework files.

i have managed to get my HB working by doing the following

      1) delete ALL honorbuddy files and folders from your computer

      2) download and install this http://download.microsoft.com/downl...-4FF2-B699-5E9B7962F9AE/VSU3/vcredist_x86.exe

      3) Reboot... as in shut down system completely

      4) turn off your anti-virus

      5) Load WoW and honorbuddy

      6) login to both and let honorbuddy update if it asks

      7) enjoy

Once honorbuddy was updated i was able to re-enable my anti-virus and didnt have any further issues

if you're having trouble deleting HB then you most likely have an SVN update process holding something open. Check your running tasks and stop anything related to your SVN updater. TortoisSVN will be something like TSVNCache.exe.

Clearly something has changed with HB. I'm experiencing this issue on 2 of 3 PC's, but the one that is working was updated in the exact same fashion as the other 2, and runs the same Bots/Plugins/Routines/Profiles as the working PC. Curious as to why this is necessary, with no confirmation from the Dev's or Mods acknowledging that there is a problem. I'd sure like to hear from the HB Staff as to what their thought is on this...

As an update to my previous post:

I completed ONLY STEP 2 and was immediately up and running again on all PC's. *Shrug*

Why "Facepalm"? A restart wasn't required by the install (in step #2) itself, and I decided that deleting the files wasn't required to be step #1 (meaning I could do it at any point in the process). Why would it be? So after the install was completed, I thought I'd try firing up HB to confirm that it still would not work... except it did work.

      Heads up guys...

IF all of that still doesn't get you running, then turn your Virus scanner off. E.g. Avast seems to be picking something up.
As per the poster above, turning your AV off inst a great idea, however for a short period of time to ensure that HB works should be fine. Then you can look to turn it back on, and find/enter an exception for HB in your AV product.

So you're the one HB user with a 32-bit OS, preventing the rest of us from getting a 64-bit version of HB?
