So I get up this morning and try to log in to look over my auctions when it becomes rapidly clear my account is no longer mine. I log in knowing all to well my chars are gonna be naked save for the tier gear and the ashen verdict ring. I reset the password and turns out I'm right. So I go to open a ticket and there's already a ticket written explaining the situation.

      Good form hacker, good form.

Go and buy an authenticator or use your smartphone(if supported) and connect it to your goldbank-account. It is definitely worth the few $ and it is a good protection if you've got a keylogger on your system!

I have good anti-virus software and a very odd password I memorised. I think the hacker must be someone I know who guessed my secret question answer.

You were keylogged or you blindly submitted login credentials to a site other than the official WoW one.

its not really, if you are botting you should protect yourself too. with authenticator on a account which has the gold. else you risk losing it.

      live and learn.

no way i'd have 280k without multiple accounts with gbank access and all secured with authenticators.

i bet that phisher was so fucking happy lol i'd shit my pants if i were hacking and found 280k compared to the usual 2k they usually get per accnt.

      EDIT: @panyama

"why do people put sensitive info like "GOLD FARMED 100K" in their signatures? you're not gaining respect of anyone....you're just adding to our competition by making ppl want to get into gold selling. we need a forum rule or something cuz thats fuckin retarded putting info like that in your sig and letting the world know how much gold/money you've made botting"

      think about it.

If they are reading his signature they are already on the site so they would be more than capable of reading the success stories, please think next time.

      "please think next time"

      TROLL.

say a HB user comes to the forum and sees billy has made $319.25 botting. will he want to use GB and sell gold, thus adding to the decay of our fragile market? i think you know as well as i do the answer is YES.

Decay of the market? HB and GB are not private bots. Hell, the version of GB is even called "Gold seller edition".

If you don't like it ... too bad. People sharing their success is fine. If you're relying on the "fragile market" to make ends meet, you need to get a life.

theres a difference between sharing your success and putting how much gold/money youve made botting down to the dollar in your sig. if you can't understand the concept GTFO kkthx

All a bit hostile and/or condescending tbh guys. I'm not a moron in fact I'm currently working my way toward a degree in computing. I do not have any keyloggers and have not put my details into any random phishing sites. I think someone I know will have hacked the account using my secret question most likely because they know me and could probably guess the answer. You all might be surprised to know that a large portion of "account hacks" are actually perpetrated by people you know. Get off your high horses it can happen to anyone. Unless your a loner who's only interactions with people are wow or screaming at your mother to bring more pizza rolls to the basement.

The thread isn't about me being hacked but rather the curious fact that my hacker wrote a ticket for me to a GM.
