How about opening a collaboration project - consume community profiles, work with them to polish up, then pay the creator a small fee? It'd drive interest to your product! Just trying to think of alternatives.

They didn't start enforcing it today - all my stuff were removed weeks ago.

I don't like this change either - I think there are many other (and better) solutions to the problems you had. The versions I was posting on these forums were not crippled - they were quite functional and useful for a lot of people. And then there were my free products aswell, where I was just offering people automatic updates by using my plugin - that was not allowed either.

You say the problem is crippled products with a paid version and you don't want to be held responsible for scams etc - but how does that apply to free products?

I mean - I'm not even allowed to help someone in the developer forum by linking him an answer on another website. That's just ridiculous.

I truly appreciate you guys trying to keep your user base from getting scammed. I think this is one example where the rule simply does not apply! Tuan has made you guys money and I have no doubt about that..i bought more bots because of his routine. I am sure there are others who purchased more keys because his routines are so good..

Sadly, this is true & this rule was needed.

What sucks is that a very good cc got caught up in the fray. I have always been against paid ccs because the free version were usually shit, then I ran across TaunHA's Monk cc... The free version performed very well & the forum page always gave great information/advice, so I recently bought the "donation" version.

Unlike other "donation" items on the forums, TaunHA's forum pages were filled with helpful information from community members & the product was up to date.

I just hope that there is a way that we can take a look at this & find a way to fix it. The rule is definitely need, because there were developers taking advantage of the community. However, this cc & it's developer was different inho.

The thing is, we know that TuanHA is a good developer, and we appreciate that he keeps his free version of everything working well.
We just need the routine to comply with the new rules.
As soon as the links are removed from his routines, the thread will be visible again.

Taking advantage of the community. You mean the one I have spent countless hours developing for, and providing support to those who need it for simple HB problems/other hb products, and have received next to nothing in return from?

If more users took the time to thanks developers, add likes, add reputation then it would be more satisfying.
But to see 1000s of downloads of projects, and get maybe 20-30 thanks top from users is very depressing.
But when something goes wrong there are normally all 1000 back to complain.

I'd almost go so far as to say that Bossland GmbH is taking advantage of 3rd party devs, because they make it MANDATORY that your projects be opensource.
Then the licensing. ANY user can take ANY project and re-upload it, without changing a thing, as their own project, and all they have to do is say somewhere in the thread that "credits to original author"
That other user doesn't even have to ask for permission. They are granted access to all IP contained within the project by Bossland GmbH, even though it is not their code to grant access to.
This is MANDATORY of all projects here on thebuddyforums. Another reason I will not be posting any new projects here.

@Crowley underneath this post: Lol, you missed a lot.

So CR/plugin makers are not even allowed to put links into their free routines/plugins pointing to websites with paid/better versions now? Seriously, there is such a thing as being overprotective.

We're not even allowed to put links pointing to the same version on another website. So that's a no :p

EDIT: Except if it's a google SVN for some reason.

And now that you do not allow paid versions you think that much better free versions will be available? Wow, that makes sense.... not.

Maybe they anticipate that they will lose the trial? Maybe they are trying to help people because I could see a lot of mad people and confusion if they bought profiles / routines etc then HB goes down.

      Just a thought

Nothing wrong about that, we insist that ppl charge for good work, we even pay alot to such devs that contributed good plugins, classes, profiles.

Hell, a lot of them work for us since months/years, they started as casual users here.

What we do not like, is advertisement placements in our forums and in our bots.

I'm very sad to see how many great developers are following no1's example; HB is going to lose A LOT of good developers because of the recent actions. Don't get me wrong, I understand where they are coming from, I just think it sucks because the great developers in the community are now going to stop posting altogether.

When someone spends hours upon hours to make a simply great CC/plugin/etc... all it does is help HB, whether it's free/paid/donation/whatever, it still helps HB.

We are not pissed about anything, we just stated that we do not like advertisement placements for free in our forums or our products.

Imagine i build an WOW UI, load it up on Curse and once the user starts it, it shows him not just the UI but also 20 links of our products and affiliated keystores and goldsell pages.

We do not like that. And since we do not charge for advertisement, there is also no possibility to advertise on our forums, or have you ever seen a single AdWords placement here?

So it's not paid versions that has caused this uproar, it's advertisements? That would make a lot more sense to me.
