Hi Joe, first of all : Thx a very lot for your hard work. I've been trying buddywing since it was released but gave up at a point where nothing happened and was just using luckys until the space bot ban wave appeared. A few weeks ago i gave buddywing another try and was very happy to see that a very lot changed and buddywing is a real option to level my new characters. I am using Mizzles grind pack and your "Fight at Joe's". Both work well together and i am happy to have 'em. My "tracer merc" is running pretty good and I nearly reached the cap so I decided to check out the Powertech as well. With my new Powertech i have some trouble and maybe you are able to help me. Perhaps its just a tiny mistake i made. To determinate which spec buddywing is using i only change the lines in the spechandler.cs: case AdvancedClass.Powertech: tree2 = SkillTreeId.PowertechAdvanced; tree1 = SkillTreeId.PowertechFirebug; tree3 = SkillTreeId.PowertechShieldTech; break; It doesn't matter which spec i skilled and where my Talent Points are set. buddywing always detects spec 3 Therefore i just change the lines, if i am using Firebug i change the line like tree2 = SkillTreeId.PowertechAdvanced; tree3 = SkillTreeId.PowertechFirebug; tree1 = SkillTreeId.PowertechShieldTech; Buddywing checks the spec and always detects the correct spec. My problem is that when i am using firebug and advanced powertech he isn't moving. He fights / fights back when he is Close to enemies or is under attack but he isn't moving. Using shield tech he is moving and everything works well except the Problem that he is only using two different abilities: Rapid fire and flamethrower. The flamethrower even if the enemies are at >30yards range. Do you know why this happenes and what i could do to make him move while using firebug? Thx again for your time. TvA
I've found the same with pyrotech. Also it doesn't seem to actually heal between fights. It's useless at the moment. Never seems to use railshot or rocket punch either.
Thanks - appreciate the feedback. I've given up on SWTOR and am no longer supporting this. Re: Your posts - 1. Read through the SUPPORTED CLASSES AND SPECS - anything not specifically listed will be running the original BW code. 2. Pyrotech, as noted in the first post, due to a bug in the .exe - requires an override of SpecHandler.cs (which is attached in the first post), as I've mentioned previously. If you don't do that, it will return no spec, and won't really do anything. Joe
Offtopic: Why did you personally give up on it? I was planning on checking it out again after a long time, have they not improved it? I was told that many people returned to it after it became F2P.
1. No Add-Ons - so as with the Auction House and at least a month back - no Unit Price listed unless you mouse-over - to me that was just symbolic - they've been bent on adding warzones etc - and pretty much forgetting about the basic functionality of the game. Nice to have creds for buying mats and gear on the game. But if it takes you over an hour to look up the best price on say 20 items and auction them, kind of a pain - for me personally I couldn't stand the auction mechanism. So with the lack of support on features, and no Add-Ons - not even a mechanism to add functionality where the SWTOR Devs ignored requests. 2. No humor in the game - so dry. 3. Lack of support from SWTOR Devs on requests made - took like a month if even then to get a support/request reply, and then I'd see a 'Nay' on it. 4. Forgot about this but it was definitely annoying - LOAD TIMES. The above are not to say they DIDN'T MAKE PROGRESS ON IT - they definitely did - but again it seems like warzones etc were priority EVERY TIME, and not improving things to just 'make life easier on basic tasks' for the player. Just my opinion on it of course. Joe
That's a shame, this really runs a lot smoother on my system than Wingit and it definitely feels more efficient. Thanks for the great combat routines!
Hey, I was having some issues with this routine as a Defense-specced Jedi Guardian. Basically, it's not casting any of the advanced class abilities. For example: no Dispatch, no Guardian Strike, no Riposte, no Hilt Strike, etc. What it would do: cast Freezing Force (like way too often), cast Master Strike, cast Blade Storm on cd (this is good), cast Force Push (this is bad) View attachment 2013-02-28 00.30.txt
Hey Joe I'm playing my agent as concealment (only 44 atm) but it keeps using "take cover" even tho it's the melee spec? ack just saw you didn't support this awesome routine anymore (
great piece of work you did here! very appreciated! just sad that you stopped developing ;-/ with the 2.0 changes and completion this could have gotten awesome!
The bright side is this works as a very nice template to do editing of your own and fix the rotations
what do you mean? they're in the first post and this has nothing to do with profiles... this is a custom class here
If by "enhanced profiles" you mean combat routines that we've customized... I'm afraid that's not really not a blanket fix sort of thing. They're class + spec specific routines. If you want help customizing your own then you can send me a private message and I'd be happy to help with any issues you're encountering, but i'm still learning a lot myself.
I personally am trying to build stuff for the community. I am very amateur at this but as I go I want to start sharing my stuff if its wanted! Hopefully that makeb grind can get some feedback and tweaks. I also Have a PowertechShieldTech Routine I have been messing with.(My first one!) Seems like its working out pretty solid. Would anyone be interested in it?
Personally, it's thinking that sharing grind profiles is NOT a good idea and here's why: Grinding profiles are VERY easy to make, and they take like 5 minutes to do once you know what you're doing. However if grind profiles are popular and available, there will probably be more people using the profiles. If multiple people end up using the same profiles not only will it hinder your ability to farm but it also increases the likelihood of getting caught. So, personally, I guess I don't care because I wouldn't be using the profiles anyway... but if you want to keep using your own profile I recommend you don't share it because if it IS good and it DOES become popular it'll only mean that it'll eventually become almost unusable That's why you don't see any grind profiles being released that are intended to be farmed at high level on these forums already. Any routines you share, however, I think would be a fantastic idea because right now our options are pretty limited.
