Hmmm well I do monitor my HB 99.9% of the time (the 0.1% is to take a piss on the occasion lol) I don't use any plugins and I do random logouts. Haven't been hit yet but it really looks like there is a trend here with bans lately so may be hit soon too. Btw if it makes a difference I block any connection to bnet when I bot to avoid having annoying wisps from people on my friends list. By blocking this could it also be blocking any attempts of a GM trying to look into whats running on my PC? I would assume they would use some sort of Bnet service in order to do that. Ideas or info about this is welcome.

Is that a separate service? I didn't realize you could disable bnet connectivity.

Anyway I think they still can track you down, they would do all their snooping through the server or a client to monitor you.

That being said they can only monitor you as far as seeing what your doing, they provide the data you are responsible for processing and interface, its a problem a lot of companies see with client servers in that they don't have full control of the user(cloud computing is an effort to have full control of everything).

So the server sends you data, your computer processes it and displays it then responds.

Long story short unless they can somehow ping your client and the client return it with a tell tale sign honorbuddy is working, I doubt they can detect it, They just dont have enough control legally in their power.

Nope not a separate service, you just simply block it through your firewall it will make you look offline to anyone who is on your friends list but I don't know what else I could be disabling by doing this, gm chat?

Ah that's cool, thanks for the info it's always interesting to hear about this topic from someone who knows more.

You know I don't know enough about WoW specifically but that's where you would categorize WoW's servers.

From that standpoint they really just control the flow of data coming into your system which then builds everything you see and replies back. As long as the replies back to the server are normal, as in honor buddy doesnt do anything like inject packets the server doesnt expect, I really cant see blizzard detecting the bot unless they scan outside of whats immediately pertinent to wow (unless honorbuddy works differently than I think it does, like I said I dont really know about the specifics of wow/honorbuddy, but i am familiar with how servers work -- this is speculation).

That might diable gm chat but your still connected to their servers and they can still interact with your charachter. I heard rumors about them shadowing people chars and porting them. You might be able to diable the chat but not that, so disabling bnet is helpful but not foolproof.

Yup that's pretty true there have been some reports of teleporting and such.
Nonetheless I'm pretty sure I saw the ToS posted somewhere saying that they can check your running processes on your PC for an investigation. (this is not direct way it was said but something along those lines) Which means that they could see an Honorbuddy process running.

Just to be sure I named my Honorbuddy client "I know your spying on me" lol haven't had any bans yet :p Maybe they are like Woah! He KNOWS!!!

      http://www.ownedcore.com/forums/dia...-blizzard-scanning-accesing-our-ram-bots.html

I think you can take consolation in the fact that honorbuddy says they put a lot of effort into getting around warden too, so I assume they've got it covered :)

I really, honestly think your safe from these kinds of scans, it's reports and gm action i'm worried about. That being said, i could be completely wrong and maybe they are, I'm avoiding the bot for a while to stay safe, but I think I'm just a little paranoid.
