Good Morning all, Firstly let me say I was a bit hesitant about posting this as it could be interpreted as flaming however that is not my intention it is simply my intention to put 2 and 2 together to point what has happened in my case. On my account #2 I leveled up a toon simply to farm panda herbs/ore. Mind you I have been botting on this account for around 2 years and never received so much as a warning. Yesterday I recieved an email stating (Banhammer) ***Notice of Account Closure*** Account Name: WOW1 Reason for Closure: Terms of Use Violation -- Exploitative Activity: Unauthorized Cheat Programs ("Hacks") This account was closed because one or more characters were identified using an unauthorized cheat program, also known as a "hack." These programs provide character benefits normally not achievable in the World of Warcraft. Such benefits include, but are not limited to, increased speed, teleportation, or running through walls/boundaries. Use of these unauthorized programs harms the game environment because they offer an unfair advantage over other players and supersede the intended limits of the game. Even if this is the result of account sharing, the account owner can still be held responsible for the penalty because of the impact it had on the game environment. We've found the above behavior is many times directly related to groups responsible for compromising World of Warcraft accounts; we take these issues very seriously. To better understand our position against exploitative activity and the risks involved, please review this article: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/services/anti-gold/ The exploitative activity that took place on this account violates the World of Warcraft Terms of Use. We ask you take a moment to review these terms at http://us.blizzard.com/company/legal/index.html. Note that additional Terms of Use violations may result in more severe actions against this account, up to and including permanent closure. If you believe your account was compromised, please go to the following website https://us.battle.net/account/support/account-recovery.html. Our support staff will assist you as soon as possible. If you are unable to access your account due to the password being changed, please visit our Login Support site here: https://us.battle.net/account/support/password-reset.html For any disputes of this action or further information on exploitive activity, please visit the Account Administration Overview and contact page here: http://us.battle.net/support/en/article/300515 Regards, Customer Services Blizzard Entertainment http://us.battle.net/wow/en/ So this is where bothaven comes in. I began using two bothaven plugins. The first is anti-stuck for druids and the other was GB helper which is supposed to help gb skip nodes with X amount of mobs near a node. I was botting for around 4-5 hours before my account received the ban-hammer. This was the first time I tried any bothaven plugins. While I accept the challenge to bot and not get banned I think it noticeable that in the short amount of time spent farming using those plugins that I got banned. And now the Good News. I was able to successfully gain my account back. However it should be noted on the first attempt I got a generic reply issue closed we've done what were going to do. On my second ticket lifted the ban. So to those who do get banned I would say don't stop trying on the first and second attempts. Keep pleading your case. I was heartbroken because I had saved up around 17k ore and 26k herbs that I was saving for 5.2. Moral of the story, do some research before using plugins from an outside source. I will say that I am an avid user of bothavens profiles and have bought a few and am very happy with them. However I will never use another one of their plugins. This is the latest response from Customer Support: Greetings, Thank you for contacting us concerning the recent action taken against the World of Warcraft account WoW1. After a thorough review of the circumstances involved in this action, the account has been reopened and access restored. Please take a few moments to look over the World of Warcraft Terms of Use (http://us.blizzard.com/en-us/company/legal/wow_tou.html), as we take matters involving the integrity of the game environment very seriously. Please understand that should another incident of this nature arise in the future, it is possible that a different outcome will be reached, up to and including Account Closure. The Terms of Use state that you will not "...modify or cause to be modified any files that are a part of the Game Client or the Service in any way not expressly authorized by Blizzard" or "...use cheats, automation software (bots), hacks, mods or any other unauthorized third-party software designed to modify the World of Warcraft experience..." they delay bans, for at least a day... they don't ban straight away and they also don't ban on the same day.
hmm. I hadn't considered that or heard of it tbh. Just strikes me as odd that I started botting on this new toon and soon after I got the ban hammer. It should be noted that prior to this happening I hadn't botted in any form (except for leveling this toon) for about a month. I was on another account for (herbs/ore). Although, yes I bot quite frequently on almost all of my accounts except my main account.
The plugins found on our website are just as safe as running a normal plugin. In fact, some of our plugins are even downloadable to install just like you would with plugins found on these forums. Our plugins are not "detectable", they use the HB api just like all other plugins and are protected by HB's anti detection. I've personally botted with those 2 plugins for days in a row without ban, so this was just a coincidence. I'm sorry for your loss, but the likeliness of a botHaven plugin causing it is just as high as any other plugin found on these forums.
most of the time they do ban in waves (blizzard have stated this too), and in order to do this... they would need to delay the bans, it is possible that people get banned within hours but it's quite rare. people who care about their accounts get angry, but ofcourse they can't get angry at themselves (even though it is completely their fault) so they redirect their anger at something else (usually the bot).
sorry but its bullshit ^^. ban has nothing to do with bothaven. their plugins work just every other else in the forum
me as well, back when i used glider, my account got banned, i made another one, it was banned with 30 mins.
Uhm.. Did I miss something? Since when is Giwin close to the staff? And what staff are we talking about? HB or bH?
I thought most insta bans is caused by linked hdd serial, mac/ip, credit card / same b.net ? GFT: "people who care about their accounts get angry, but ofcourse they can't get angry at themselves (even though it is completely their fault) so they redirect their anger at something else (usually the bot)." I felt exactly the same when they banned my Diablo account, even tho, now in retrospect, i wonder why they didnt ban me faster (was completely retarded lol..)
Just ignore webhond, he is the most butthurt person to ever walk this earth... Its everyone elses fault and the HB staff actively trying to get us all banned lol. (while from a business pov that would be the most idiotic thing ever, but logic doesn't compute on forums..)
^ Ive had 4 accounts banned in just a few hours only doing some questing and the next day they are gone. Also had 2 accounts that were banned in less than 3 hours. All payed accounts from blizzard store
