Generally you have to release a CC or a plugin to become a CC dev (diff than a dev - I for example am a dev and there are only 2 others).
When you put the highlight on the diference from "dev" and "cc dev" i thought you were talking about the bot core devs, not the CC devs.
i want to be able to ask stupid questions and act like a nub in the dev forums!! no, not really. i think there should be a sub-forum for "questions ordinary nubs have that dont have the skills to figure it out"
Nah Erenion , not fair ... only for dev. someone that is trying hard to code something , like an plugin or cc MUST NOT post his question in the general discusion where they speak "My toon isnt moving, please help" , And get lost between the postings. We can do it in the dev forum. Special Devs like you deserv an core coding spot.
Maybe you misunderstood me... There is already one for CC devs. Whenever I need to ask someone something I go bug nesox or main (and in return CC devs bug me). People who arn't CC devs can ask in the general place.
What if I want to ask a CC dev question, but havent released anything worth getting CC dev status ? Happens to be the case. I am reading all other CCs released to figure out how to access stuff. Such as Wowunits (mobs, npcs) and objects, as well as nav system. Programming by example has its limitations. Specially when you are making stuff that no one did before .. or u didnt find yet xD
Ask in a public forum - yes its kind of annoying but we can't just let everyone into the dev forum because 1 or two people should but don't have access to it.
Ok =) Just hope not to be replied with stuff that have nothing to do with what I asked in the first place, and have a 4 page big thread with pointless information and ppl blaming each other about the correctness of such information when they clearly know nothing about it xD
Well one persons question could help someone else also... using pm doesn't make that possible. I understand why the devs want a "clean" forum. But if none devs dont have a place to ask the questions, there is a lot of knowledge spreading lost. Besides that, the "real" devs may have to answer the same questions over, because its not possible to find the reply to someone else question.
