So dad just ordered a 1 year internet contract with at&t dsl and the speed is amazing.. only problem is that the internet disconnects every 2-3 hours and thats not what I want, and dad wont change internets, and I dont know how to make it have better connection.. and reloggers aren't working at the moment so I was wondering Would a virtual machine help me in this case, i'm not too familiar with it but if I could have something able to run wow non stop all day I would like to try that.. of course I could be completely wrong having the VM not able to function without internet? Any help would be a big Thanks.
No, a Virtual OS will not continue to run it without an internet connection. All the networking stuff is virtual and the internet is done through the host machine network settings.
so no internet means it wont work right.. what do you guys suggest if my internet keeps disconnecting for a good 5 minutes every 2-3 hours..
I suggest you contact your ISP as there is something clearly wrong. It should not disconnect every 2-3 hours, it should not disconnect at all.
ah ok.. I was wondering, would it be anything with the phone jack or most likely its the at&t company itself?
oh, cause when it diconnects it says something about broadband link doesn't connect then it reconnects in like 5 minutes
If you have DSL, and its disconnecting intermittently you don't have sufficent line filters. You need a DSL line filter on everything that uses a telephone line in your house.
Also, if the line filters arent working, you can have the telco install an equivalent of those filters at the junction box outside your house, then only the one line that goes to the modem carries the DSL signal. Also, make sure all the connections are tight, you may have a loose phone cord, maybe the retainer clip doesn't hold enough retention any more.
so does this just mean that everytime I get disconnected its because someone is calling my house phone and its the phone call that is cutting off my dsl?
it just means that you need DSL filters on your phone lines. any where there is a phone plugged in to, needs a filter. AT&T should have given you a sufficient amount of filters when you signed up. if not, you might just need to buy a few. they are not expensive.
i suggest that everytime u are out driving with your father, for every 5km, u reach over and pull out the keys and throw them out the window, then he can spent the next 30 mins or so, finding the keys, so u can drive on again. And just keep doing it, until he totally flips out, and then ask him. Well how fucking fun do you think it is botting, when the shitty ISP u paid, isnt working correct and disconnect my bot every 2-3 hours, ? if u fix my internet, i will stop throwing away your car keys
awesome thank you for your solutions guys I will check on that tomarrow.. and that should pretty much be the problem I have>
When you get disconnected from the intarwebs.... do you have to log in again via some type of webpage, or do you have to redial, or does it just automatically resync?
it just disconnects like all wow's crash, and on the web, it just goes to a page that says the broadband thing cant connect
btw for the filters, we have house phone but none of them are connected to the phone line cause all of ours is just a small plug and no other phone line is really used besides the dsl one so would the filters still be a problem?
