Are Blizz tracking our IP address?

Hey folks

Today I got permanently banned on 4 gb2 accounts. 2 of them had already 72 hours ban earlier. the strange thing is that all got banned just 2 minutes between. do they look up which other accounts are on the same ip and ban them as well?

yes, they can't ban by IP but they can and usually do investigate other accounts.

Easy enough.. once you receive a ban on one account and you connect all your other accounts with the same IP, you will be subject to scrutiny.
One wrong move and all your other accounts will be investigated.

Why do you think they don't want you to use a V-P-N ? Bingo.

They don't "Actively" track IP's. But it gets logged anyway! (Think authenticator ,account lock when logging from another country,etc)
They only "track" someone's IP when they feel the need to (ie,reported multiple times,using game-breaking hacks such as duping hacks)
So they don't "track" the ip's of the millions of players they have, it just gets logged for other purposes and they (GM's investigating) obviously have access to it and it's used mostly for reference.

At least that's what i think ._.
