So it is obvious we have a little bit of new life in the Buddywing community (or at least quite a few names I don't recognize), as such it seems like it might be time to fix up Kick's Buddywing Profiles.
All of the profiles have many issues with everything from pathing to elevators to getting stuck on almost anything.
They are not horrible, but many are almost unusable and have no support outside of one or two classes. Even after so much time passed.
I remember someone mentioning previously that Bioware has changed a few ID's ect.
As the community seems to have grown a bit, I'm sure there's enough of us to assist in helping with logs and anything needed to fix these profiles, as well as hoping Makeb might be worked on aswell.

Any direction or ideas on how to help Kick or anyone willing to take over the Buddywing Profiles project improve these works would be appreciated.

Third, and have been trying to contact Kick on his twitter, and forums but no luck yet I see him constantly in the HB forums working on stuff. His HB profiles are also being updated VIA of SVN so I know he is around. I have been offering him a good donation to continue the project if he has the time.

Yes he does work on HB quite extensively, and improves those profiles almost daily.
However, since he did originally write the Buddywing profiles, I too would be willing to kick in (hah get it?) a nice donation to see them improved and worked on. Seeing as how their demand is lower than that of the HB community, but still exists.

Can we get an Admin or Dev to maybe pass this along? Maybe ask him what it would take to work on the questing profiles again? Maybe we can do a fund raiser :)!!!!

The problem is that it is buddywing itself that causes most of the problems and not Kicks's profiles. Now don't get me wrong, there is some stuff they needs fixed/updated in Kick's profiles and can be done if you try hard enough. The main problems that break the profiles are the things like mesh issues trying to run through a building's wall, not being able to find your way back after a death, not talking to a hostile after they turn friendly, and using items on mobs. I doubt Kick wants to work on profiles that won't work really well because of buddywing issues. Not to mention working on honorbuddy profiles is sadly a lot more important than buddywing profiles.

It would be awesome if buddywing got some love and something could be done about nav server issues. Buddywing works really well when there is no nav server issues and it doesn't run into any of the problems like above. If only swtor would of done better, there would be a stronger community making plugins/combat routines/ other stuff to enhance buddywing as well as more love from buddy team devs.

Oh I completely agree with what you said as I'm a long time user of HB and have been following a lot of the dev's for years. I understand that SWTOR is lower priority and I have been cleaning up some of kicks quest profiles slowly but surly. On the other hand he is much more experienced then I am and can do it much faster. I'm willing to pay him for his time so its not like I'm asking him to do it for free:) I also understand that some of the issues are BW, and not the profiles, but some of it is the profiles like locations are not correct. Last I would say that we should get 50-55 ones :)

      Thanks for reading

I would be happy to throw in some squid as well if we get some profile love!

I agree with this. However, there are quite a few planets where the path could be altered, even slightly, to make the bot get stuck less. I'd be willing to test, log, and whatever to fix those pathing issues. It is a shame about SWTOR. What it does right, it does exceptional, what it does wrong, it makes many rage quit. For me personally, I am not one of those people who found it painfully easy to level. I struggled with it endlessly, either being too tired from work, or just not paying attention, thus turning to this bot.

I appreciate that to no end Aevitas. I'm glad this thread has drawn a bit of a crowd looking to help improve the bot and profiles. Sometimes we forget that the devs make the bot work, but the community makes it strong. (Or tries too)
