PLEASE NOTE THAT THE PATCH NOTES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE, NOTHING IS FINALIZED So with the new PTR build data mining done by mmochamps, there seems to be a new feature called "Virtual Realms" as detailed below: Virtual Realms are coming, which will essentially merge realms. This will allow you to keep playing on your current realm, but trade with and do arenas, raids, and dungeons with people in your realm group, as well as use a merged Auction House. So, incase you guys didn't pick it up, they will be merging auction houses. Not too sure how this will affect total demand and supply of raw materials we farm using GB2. But just a heads up if you haven't seen this bit of information yet. This could potentially put a lot of pressure on a lot of botters seeing how competition will increase and prices may fall (Also may increase if demand outstrips supply). But what will happen for sure is that competition WILL increase. Reports will most likely increase as well. So do what you may with this piece of information. [Edit] Another piece of useful information would be this: All permanent item enhancements provided by Enchanting, Engineering, Leatherworking, Tailoring, and various vendors and quests are now able to be applied to items of any level. The effects of these enchantments will be scaled down to the level of the player using the item. This seems to allow all enchants to be applied at any level, which bypasses the previous requirement of a particular ilvl. No word on inscription enchants, but hopefully it'll make it through as well. This may also help the herb prices that have drastically fallen with patch 5.3, so we shall see.
I don't think the prices will fall/rise alot... more competition but also more buyers, so... The point with enhancements is a pretty big + imo
well as my realm has been virtually dead for a year and i was getting sick of paying for toon transfers this sounds alright for breathing life back to some of my old characters, not sure how it will affect the botting but it's interesting non the less!
Need to mention the scaling only applies downwards for high level enchants, you won't benefit from upwards scaling by putting Crusader on a raid heroic unfortunately.
sucks =( there goes safe botting on low pop servers. here comes more griefing and reporting. there goes easy gold via AH manipulation and/or making any money at all via professions. Ughg crz 2.0 my2c
I agree. The new 'features' seem a tacit acknowledgement of a declining playerbase. To me, it smells like a 'server merge', without actually calling it that. just my $0.02, cj
I doubt all auction houses will be merged especially for the bigger realms. I think this does help with the smaller realms but it would make problems for the big ones that are already full.
I believe the idea is like that of the old battlegroups and there will be sets of realms designated as your virtual realm. Depending on how this is set up it could mean different things, but I assume the best is to group a certain number of each high, medium, and low pop servers something like 1 high pop, 5 medium, and 15 low pop all into one Virtual realm. I dont think high pop realms will have to worry too much as their market is very stable and probably would set the benchmark for when other realms join the group. If each realm has 10% bot population then after the merger its still 10% bot population per virtual realm, the only downside I could see is if multiple servers that have a significantly large number of botters on those realms get merged together. Then it could be a problem for us.
Meh I see this as a good thing tbh. If you wanna sell herbs/ore on the ah now it will be bought within 10 minutes instead of 10 hours. This will cause your name not to be always on ah when someone looks at herbs and will seem less likely that there is a bot. However the competition between ah bots/goblins is gonna be crazy now.
How will i keep up with the trade chat now.......... Im struggling to do it on my server already, (server is full)
If this kills the prices of mats I'm done with WoW. Been desperately trying to wring what little enjoyment I can out of it for months and if I no longer support my toons and skip most of the grindy/farming BS by botting a hour or 2 when I hit the sack, well f*** it. EDIT: Then again I'm on Moon Guard, it's already full and Blizz might be reluctant to merge the home of Pornshire with anyone.
I play my main on an active realm because I wouldn't pay if it were empty by any means. Would never bother with toon transfers.
agreed, im on a server with a high pop atm. questing is a pain in the ass at low levels. adding ANY more people would cause problems lol
