Century Is turning off internet due to the fact of Honorbuddy In the United States. I was botting today. I turned on my BGbuddy and went to look at the forums said My Internet has been Turned off Do to a Third Party program they Consider as Malicious Software. I guess blizzard is paying internet companies now to shut down they bot in the United States?
Are you sure that was HB and not some other Malicious Software? Do you also have an email or something to prove this?
Besides the Email Stating That the program called Honorbuddy Was using the Internet and they called it Malicious.
This sounds very unlikely. Seems to me they would shut down your internet for uTorrent if that was the case. It costs the movie and music business alot more money than honorbuddy cost blizzard.
Hi, Dustoff001, Indeed, the responses are right on. You are using a legitimate service, and an ISP would open themselves up to legal action for interfering with a legal service for which you've paid. This would be identical to denying you access to your Netflix account. My guess is one of the following: You are mis-interpreting what CenturyLink is telling you You may have a virus on one or more machines your residence that is drawing their attention and causing the issue It is definitely not Honorbuddy causing the CenturyLink action. cheers, chinajade
I have Century Link myself and the main reason I do is because as ISPs go in the United States they are one of the least likely to shut you down for ANYTHING. They actually are not even part of the new copyright warning system that comcast and such are a part of. Like someone has already said, if they dont shut me down for over 2TB of traffic every month, I don't see why they would shut down honorbuddy. They aren't even really liable for what you do with the internet they provide you.
I have CenturyLink I'll check if this is true when I get home. I'f CenturyLink blocked HB for you it would for anyone using it.
When I downloaded the .rar file for honorbuddy the other day I got a warning from my anti-virus that it had downloaded a trojan. Ever since then when playing on WoW, I get these random 30 sec interval internet cutouts for hours at a time. I have comcast, and I don't understand why it would have detected a torjan with the program. Just saying this bc I too get internet cutouts using HB as of a few days ago
China, I got an infraction from you and you don't receive PMs. You said that I am using an unofficial version and asked me to "join the light side" or something like that. I have purchased 2 licenses from yall and planned on buying more. I have bank statements to prove this, and wish for you to explain yourself. I don't appreciate this, and hope that you fix whatever you are accusing me of asap.
Pictures or didn't happen. I get a DMCA notice from my ISP in browser that I have to acknowledge before browsing again. I'm not saying all ISPs are the same, but mine was just a warning for pirating on the pirate bay and they've given me several though I don't use the bay anymore since public trackers are bad news, but that's a whole separate topic. Anyway, the likelihood as to any of this story being true is slim to none. I can see it being detective by antivirus possibly, but not an ISP turning off your connection. I would be infuriated if every time something malicious was detected my internet access was gone. They would receive a very drunk and angry customer complaint.
Hmm... I have had CenturyLink for as long as I have used HB. Never been turned off for 3rd party software. I have gotten warnings and disconnections from Movie Torrents. Learned to be very careful after that. Unfortunately I tried to find the emails but could not. I will look again later.
I just said that, sorry wrong terminonolgy. I hit download honorbuddy at the top of this site... edit: I had meant .zip or whatever
how stupid im speechless i often wonder how many people that post here are just here to spread rubbish about this product.............. 1 a isp will not block anything that is legal once a court in the isp country says its illegal then they will act an example of this is virgin media with pirate bay in the uk.... 2 anything an isp does to a customer they will always spell it out in legal terms as to why they have done what they have this is to cover them incase you decide to sue/challenge them...........3 as you aint in Germany i think you are full of **** and that's putting it politely
I wasn't complaining, and never meant to sound like I was. I love this product, pay for it, and simply wrote what I saw happen when I downloaded it from the top. I am sure it was from some other source, never said anything was bad with this product. I am sorry for not being versed well with computer viruses and stuff and being confused. But I am a legal owner and purchaser of this product through bosslands or whatever
CoxCable shut off my internet for bootlegging a *****ed version of a nintendoDS game. a quick phone call solved the problem though. [tell em you have unsecured wireless router] of course this was after 100+ 'STOP IT' emails telling me to stop downloading torrents. however, i torrent way over 100gigs of data every week. just my 2 cents, anecdotal evidence from another HB customer.
*Off topic* Thanks Frosticus, that's actually a pretty cool response -blaming an unsecured wireless router. Good thinking, I will definitely keep that in mind!
