I m running Several VMs on 3770ks with 16gb, pretty much the usual botting setup on Win 7 Home Premium 32bit(Hosts Win8 Pro) VMware 9 Everything works as you d expect but after SWTOR crashes once and I restart SWTOR the VMS freeze up with black screen every time after the first loading screen. Only powerring off the VM can fix it.After restarting , it works again 1 time and the second time it freezes again. I ve tried reinstalling the VMs and also a fresh SWTOR install. I ve tried on 2 PCs (Almost identical ones though) and still always One run works the second launch it freezes. Has anyone else run into this issue or is it just me? Why is this an issue? Because I use Autoit scripts to check what my bots are doing and restart them in case something is up. This constant VM resetting is a huge waste of time. If someone has been able to run SWTOR Vms without this issues I d appreciate if you could let me know your Setup.
That's odd. The only major difference I can see between your set-up and mine is that my host computer runs Win 7 x64 (the VMs use Win 7 x86). Is anything running on the host which might be lagging out the CPU or hard drive? Any anti-virus programs running in the background, or programs which update at unusual times?
It s a fresh Windows 7 Install with only VMWARE Tools and Swtor installed. I ve also tried cleaning memory with the tool mentioned in a thread on the forum after the crash and restarting Swtor and it still happens. I can reproduce it every time, so probably nothing that runs at unusual times. Good to know it s not happening to everyone though, so there must be a fix. Thanks for your answer. UPDATE/SOLVED: Going from 2 CPUs with 2 Cores to 1 CPU with 6 Cores seems to have fixed the issue. 1CPU and 4 Cores also freeze though.
VM wokrs ok for me with 1 CPU 4 Core settings but the game freezes after the character screen :/ On 1 CPU and 6 or 8 Cores loads my Host CPU to 100% insta. Without doing anything in the VM (VM CPU usage is like 10% at the time) Still haven't found a way to run more at the sime time, though i have a 3 key session. Neither with ISBoxer. BW just starts filling the RAM...
