Anyone have any tips they would be willing to share. I have 60k I need to get to another server and only one char to do it with. I was thinking maybe mechano-hog or the epic parrot. Something that is semi-recession proof. Good ideas anyone?
What's the gold limit on a character when you realm transfer? If it's more than 60k you should just character xfer = )

Really 1 character can hold like 200k gold, but you can only have 20k when you transfer a character. That's f***ing retarded.
Hog is recession proof. You will make at least 12.5k on it, since that's the cost of vendor mats. The parrot is VERY server-specific. Some servers you'll make 4-5k tops, others you can get 25k. Hogs are your best bet unless you know before you move that you will fetch a good price for the parrot (e.g. plan a sale on you destination realm forums).
You can also check the server's economy with certain items. Things such as primordial saronites, titansteel bars, etc... If you find the right items, you even have the possibility of making a killer profit (my server has primordials at 300-400g each now, whereas they're still 1k+ on several servers).
As people have said just research, find out what is worth not very much on the server your on and a lot on the one you are going to and buy a lot of them. Make sure to spread out your investment so you don't crash the economy of the new server. Spend a week or two selling all the stuff that you bought and you should actually end up with more gold than when you started (if you do it right ofc).
Pretty much this. I bot and play on several servers, but the price for the hog is always at 14k (+/- 500g). So I would definatly go with this
They do this to prevent economy crashes. And they think it stops gold selling. Alot of people exploit this by bringing over mills and mills worth of mats though. What I would do is fill your bags and bank up to the brim with mats and then xfer over get a private buyer on the realm you're xfering to and the moment your toon is over there get and sell your gold. I've done this countless times when I needed to xfer stuff over to other servers and have never been banned for this reason.
