Edit for those coming into this thread:

I adapted the old NoMoveDetector plugin to play an alert sound if it detects no movement for 3 minutes. Handy since I'm afk botting while I'm doing other things around the house and it will alert me when I need to go and move my character to pickup or turnin a quest. In case anyone wants to use it until it gets sorted out in the core, I've attached it here.

Credit goes to cls15 for the original plugin.

Trying to figure out the root of this issue. It is not profile specific (tested with Kick's, Cava's, and my own questing profiles) - nor plugin specific (tested with a fresh install and no plugins enabled) - nor CC specific (tested Singular and Custom classes).

      The issue is this:
      - Character attempts to pick up or turn in quest, opens the quest window, closes it, and repeats. This is not a case of a quest already being completed or anything like that. The turn-in or pickup is real, but it never clicks correctly.

Moving the character away from the quest NPC and letting it run back usually fixes it for that turn-in or pickup. I run into this roughly 5-10 times per day and need to fix it by hand. I've tested cache clearing and a fresh install each time with no ongoing luck.

Multiple logs attached ranging from early levels to late levels. Look for repeated instances of something similar to this:

      Code:
      [03:20:47.464 D] InteractDebug:878429036
      [03:20:47.497 D] Interact Done:878429036

      Hi, Ski!

Can you make an observation when you see this again?

Does the toon have problems with pickups/turnins when it is facing away from the NPC, but is successful if you turn to face the NPC?

I've seen this issue reported a few times in Kick's thread, and am trying to find a pattern that can be forwarded to the responsible developers. All the log shows is a failure mode that looks very similar to cache corruption.

      cheers,
      chinajade

Oh man, I remember when you were just a lowly 100 post newbie :)

It happens roughly every hour. Next time it does I'll do a detailed description of what it is facing, etc for you. Generally I see it facing the NPC but pretty much inside/on top of it, so I'm unsure as to how the game is treating its direction. As soon as I move away and it moves back, the quest generally completes.

My char has around 10 quests to turn-in right now, so I'll see if it happens.

Alright, just did it again twice. Here is the behavior:

Char runs directly on top of NPC and attempts to complete quest. It opens the quest window, closes it, and repeats infinitely. I move slightly backwards off of the NPC, and it works. It then moves to each other NPC in the area to turn in and stays a few feet away, with each turn-in working correctly.

Happened again on another NPC after that camp - it flies directly on top of the NPC (if not slightly behind it), and repeats the quest dialog. Upon backing up just a few feet, it works properly. Easily repeatable.

Bug1 and 4 are the two situations where it repeated infinitely. Bug 2, 3, and 5 are post-moving successful.

My best guess is that HB is putting the Player slightly behind the NPC and not able to turn in successfully. Need to run Face or move slightly away to stop the bug.

And again, same thing, running slightly behind NPC and trying to turn in the quest.

      THANK you!

I thought this was a known problem that was nailed, but apparently not. I'll see if we can get it looked into.

      still a 100-post newbie,

      Gracias.

Let me know if you have a fix you need tested since I can recreate the issue pretty regularly.

Something else that may be useful. It only seems to happen (or mostly happens) if it tries to pick up or turn in while mounted. It runs through the NPC and ends up on the wrong side. It just happened three npcs in a row while on a flying mount.

Any idea if this was fixed in today's revision? I don't see anything about it in the patch notes but I'm testing now nevertheless.

It wasn't, I'm experiencing it right now, on almost every quest. It also won't interact with quest items either if it's not facing the target.

Still happens without a mount, and disabling mount is not a viable solution in areas where you need to fly to quest.
