Many Bans for Buying Gold and "Hacks"

Hi guys,

we have encountered a huge problem this morning. More than 10 our Accounts got banned with the reason of abusing the economy. The matter is that we bought gold to make leveling easier and we never expected 10k gold to be a huge problem. But it seems it was... We are of course appealing and hope to get at least half of them back. We will keep you updated. But our question is: Did anyone of you in the community ever had banned a lot of accounts for the solely reason of buying gold in small amounts??

The weird thing about it is, that our Farmers, Shufflers and the goldSELLING Char are not influenced..


Additionally we got 3 72h bans for using a hack.. We did not. We used HB but no hacks.. How is it possible to get a ban for hacking?

20 for Leveling (never had a problem with that) - 3 Hours in a row and then a short break

7)How many auctions per day did you have?:
0

8)Did you Use Any Other Bots, Hacks, or Mods?
No

9)Was your account involved in gold selling?
No

10)EU or US realm?
US

11)Is the banned account a Scroll of Resurrection or an actual paid account?
Paid - Discounted

The hell do you think HB is?

 

Afaik is HB not a hack but a cheating software. HAcks are meant to be not allowed changes in the game itself:

increased speed, teleportation, or running through walls/boundaries

and if HB is detected you get another mail which is saying you are using 3rd party software

 

Blizzard considers HB a Hack, it's Software Engineer speak.

 

So why do they use different terms for their emails? for me that doesnt make sense because for HB you get a perma ban immediatley?
Ok, so what would be the difference getting the one or the other..

 

That's strange. I just bought 100k to spoil myself, and I got an email from Blizzard saying that they know I bought gold, and to please not, as it hurts the economy. No ban, no warning, nothing.

 

Are you kidding me? we bought only 10k...

 

I guess its not the quantity, but the gold source as the problem.
Examine your gold seller, if he is known-to-blizzard chinese seller, it could be pretty obvious for them, they flag any account, the chinese trade gold with.
