Closed beta is likely to start in ~1-2 weeks.
Public release is likely to be ~2-4 weeks after that.

So maybe 6 weeks before you can satisfy your horny :)

Highlighted area = what continent, what area, what mats available in that area. I guess so if you are after a specific mat you can choose that ????

Awesome that it also deletes the crap you find too, what a great idea.

It will also combine various items too, eg. 10 x Ghost Iron Nuggets into a Ghost Iron Ore. Though, this option is not in the UI.

I think it means you put in the item(s) you are after, and FJ is selecting the zone/node map to get those items for you. Potentially we don't need to know where to go. FJ will tell you / suggest?

Level 90 with Herbalism and / or Mining at max level. But most importantly my decision on who would make a good beta tester based on their standing within the community and their willingness to provide helpful and constructive feedback to its members. This could be read as whomever I like or has contributed to the community.

I think i can explain this plugins.
Blacklister is a better blacklisting function as HB deliver it. If toon does not reach a node, it put it to a xml file.

      Avoid Players:
U have option fields like distance. U can select in what distance HB will not gather a node if a player is in that distance. But u have done this function on FJ.

Not in this build, not yet anyway.

Cross continent farming is on the to do list but its unlikely to be in there before release day.

Okay because i see, that u selected different zones :) I was a little bit confused :) Now i am waiting for the new update today :)

Farmer Joe blacklists objects if I can't harvest them in 25 seconds (user definable time). I don't see how this is different from "Blacklister".

Farmer Joe will not attempt to harvest (or even land by) a node that another player with within 10 yards of. The node is blacklisted for 10 seconds, if they player moves away from that node then FJ will attempt to harvest it.

In its current state you have the ability to select the the zones that Farmer Joe will roam around. You can select a single zone, this is the default behavior if you hit the HB start button without doing anything else, or you can select as many zones as is available in your current continent. For example, lets say I want a large assortment of Northrend herbs and ore. If I were to only use a single zone, lets say Borean Tundra, I'd only get a small subset of the available herbs/ore. But, if I choose Borean Tundra, Zul'Drak, Dragonblight, Grizzly Jills and Howling Fjord not only would I get a large assortment of herbs/ore but the chances of being caught spending a lot of time in one zone is reduced to nothing.

i think the idea is great. im fairly certain that many of the bans come from how rigid the GB2's pathing becomes and how easy it would be to write a detection program just by seeing the player hit the same coordinates exactly in the same order multiple times in a row.
even private profiles don't protect against the HB engine's logic on how to determine a path. since it finds the "best" path, it will always obey that best path. any method like this is probably going to have to address the issue of forcing the path to be slightly sub-optimal. variance of waypoints by a random distance or something. even if you populate the way points automatically with node detection, eventually, it's going to have a specific way to get from one point to the next that it will repeat. hopefully you've found the answer here by making the sequence less predicable, but if you've not done waypoint variance, that's the next step to "humanize" it's behavior.

this says that i want my toon to farm ON northend IN the areas Dragonblight AND Grizzly Hills TO farm Frozen Herb, Goldclover AND Rich Cobalt Deposit, all other nodes that are spawning will be ignored liek Titanium Vein, Strange Ore,Talandra's Rose, Saronite Deposite and so on.
Dunno if looted mats (Herbs/ores) that are not listed, will be deleted, but by default these Settings should tell FJ to farm on a specific continent in specific zone(s) for specific nodes.

the second screenshot tells FJ to farm ores and herbs in general and loot mobs when we killed some!
The second part of the screen doesn't fit for northend but i think this is the Mr.ItemRemover functionality, so that every loot that comes from gathering will be deleted when it is not listed here and under the section for the specific nodes that we want to have ... like ... delete talandra's rose when looted from Frozen Herb, because it is not listed. But this is only speculative ;) could be a setting to keep stupid stones / delete them when not listed also.

      and now gimme my coffee!

THAT is the answer I was looking for.

EDIT: Though, at this point I'm not sure if I'm going to force it to ignore all other nodes, or if I'm going to make this an option.

To be exact, the functional I'm trying to achieve here is: farm in Dragonblight & Grizzly Hills. Only harvest Frozen Herbs, Goldleaf & Rich Cobalt. The second screenshot was a little ambiguous and I may change things to reflect that only specific herbs are being harvested as a result of the node selection you made in the first screenshot. But "Only Harvest These" field is to be populated with the herbs / ore you want to harvest, and ONLY those items. If this field is left blank, then harvest everything EXCEPT for the items on the "Never Harvest These" list, in this case its Sha-Touched Herbs. And the Delete These field is to deleted this useless shit when its picked up.

damn i didn't read the label "never harvest these" ... :p
i only looked at the first screen, on the second screen i looked at the entries and assumed "well ... delete!" ;)

A nice 1,5h read of this thread and I must say, I AM IMPRESSED!
To see the development of this new botbase is a beautiful thing and your view on letting the whole community pitch in with ideas just comes to show how much you are willing to give to this community and not just yourself.
I have never tried GB2 with any of my toons because I'm too scared of getting a ban, but from what I can make out of the comments from harcore-farmers, this bot seems to fill the criteria of everything you want as a Farmer, profit or not.

My question; (maybe this has already been discussed, I can't remember after ~340 comments read) can this be implemented in leveling your mining or herb (or both) for ex. BS or Alch with a AFK kinda like ProfessionBuddy does, since PB uses GB2 if I'm not mistaken? I see in your UI that you can choose from 3 zones to farm from, to put it simple, can you make it farm required nodes and then switch zone/place depending on your Mining/Herb level? I guess this bot is not meant for this in anyway, it was just something I was thinking about since I don't really have any farming toons and GB2 seems to be a risky way to even level your Mining/Herb with (Yes I'm paranoid....)

I'm really looking forward to the public-beta of this and will stay with this thread as it evolves into a new great bot for all farmers out there.
Best of luck to you in your quest for making a better gathering bot!

Firstly I'm impressed you read the entire thread, only a few people have done that :)

Farmer Joe is not designed to swap zones once you've reached a certain mining/herbalism level. Well, not yet anyway. Its something I WAS considering adding but I recently found out that you can start farming in MoP from level 1.
