everything we consider high end now will be useless once cata comes out.. it happens at every expansion... and by what i'm seeing on the beta.. its going to be a farmers dream cause its hard to find the ore and such right now so prices are going to be thru the roof But blizz probably just hasn't fully populated the veins and such yet.. only a few random ones now and then
I personally found titanium to be worthless imo. I do a rotation (since I bot 10 hours as I sleep) of Fel Iron ore, Cobalt ore, and Saronite/titanium ore. I would have to say I make the most off the Fel Iron (a stack of bars sell for 80-90g on my server) followed by Cobalt (each stack sell for 40g), and lastly my Saronite/titanium which fall quite behind.
yeh happens every time. ironically the price of saronite and cobalt will go up for those that level professions since no one will be farming it. Dont worry about the price of the new stuff. Each and every cata patch that comes out with either make it easier to get the new ore, or they will remove/lower cooldowns of items that use the ore. The new shit is hard to get in the first few months of an expansion then blizz makes it really easy. There is a flood of titanium on my servers atm. People trying to dump it. So the price is falling like a rock. 2 weeks ago I could get 220 a stack, now im lucky to get 140 a stack. Its not that there is alot of it there, just no one is buying it.

Once Cataclysm comes out (assuming a system is finally in place for the paid users to get profiles and plugins), botting the new ores is going to bring in so much money, it's not even funny. I mean if we can get a few solid profiles out after the first week or two (along with updated CCs and an updated HB), people will be buying out the new ores for professions and new armors/weapons like crazy, at whatever extremely high price we set them at.
True, but the competition will be so high with everyone trying to get their peice of the pie that it will be hard to really make alot of gold off of it. I remember when LK came out and I was farming by hand there were at least 30 people in scholo farming the ore. It was going for 600-800 gold a stack and you wouldnt see anymore than a stack from everyone because of how hard it was farmed.

I prospect all my ore just for the powder. Could care less about the gems tbh. I need to look into the other top ores/bars and see which I need to stock up on.
Try late at night when nobody's on. I'm sure there's going to be a nice window of at least a few hours that's perfect for botting.
It will be interesting to see what level will be required to farm all these new nodes. Since you can fly at level 60 in Azeroth will all our level 80s be able to farm the new ore , or will we all have to get to 83, or 84.
