This makes me not even wanna play WOW any more Hunter We had three main issues we wanted to resolve for Hunters this patch: Silencing Shot, Readiness, and Stampede. The problem with Silencing Shot is it?s just too powerful as a talent. No self-respecting Hunter is going to choose any talent but Silencing Shot, especially in PvP, but in PvE as well. At the same time, we think Hunters, especially Beast Mastery, have proven really powerful in PvP this expansion?and frankly the game has too many blanket silences already, so we didn?t want to just give Silencing Shot to all Hunters. Our decision was to give Silencing Shot to Marksman, who needed a PvP buff anyway. We did give all Hunters a base interrupt with the new Counter Shot, which can interrupt a spell being cast, but can?t pre-silence a caster. Readiness has been another problematic ability for us to solve. It started as a talent, but was too good compared to the other choices. We ended up giving Readiness to all Hunters, but we were never happy with this implementation. For PvP, it made Hunters really difficult to balance with the ability to reset so many offensive and defensive abilities. For PvE, we felt like Readiness wasn?t doing anything interesting besides making the opening attack sequence twice as complicated as it needed to be. If Readiness was an ability that a clever Hunter would bust out at a clutch moment, then you could argue it would be an interesting ability, but of course it was never actually used that way. Given that Hunters already have a lot of cooldowns, situational abilities, and just buttons in general, we didn?t think Readiness was worth saving. We did make small buffs to Deterrence and Disengage and we will make sure DPS is where it needs to be (which, if I had to guess, will be relatively higher than it was in Patch 5.3). We felt like Stampede had been nerfed too much in PvE for PvP reasons. It?s the intent that Stampede is a potent cooldown for Hunters, so we increased its damage back to an exciting level and just had it do less damage in PvP. Finally, we made a change that some (though to be fair not all) Survival Hunters had asked for a long time, to remove Explosive Trap from Lock and Load (and therefore from the shared cooldown with Black Arrow) so that they could use Explosive Trap (typically with the knockback glyph) without interfering with Black Arrow/Lock and Load. Hunter talents were in a pretty good spot overall after a bit of iteration throughout MoP. We did nerf Aspect of the Iron Hawk, because as with Shadow Priests and Balance Druids, we felt like the damage reduction was just too potent. We changed Narrow Escape to be dispellable as a PvP nerf. We buffed Spirit Bond, which has felt particularly weak, and we buffed A Murder of Crows.
Please don't give up on hunters. They are going to be same place as cats. Which is good. Now we can play MM in pvp. BM has had a nerf. Which it needed. MM has had a buff. A huge one in pvp. If you cant see that than reroll. I for one cant wait to play MM again. I didn't bot in cats. But i hope Tuana sticks with this awesome cr in 5.4. I know he will. Just realise MM is back and stronger than ever.
It's strange as I inspect code and everytime CR try to cast Chimera Shot, it already check SpellManager.HasSpell("Chimera Shot") first... I maybe bug somewhere or HB API bug, I need more time to inspect.
The problem with hunter is they have too many cooldown to manage. Hunter cooldown, pet cooldown and Readiness reset it all... that make hunter hard to play and... hard to code. If they make hunter rotation simpler, I can make it more powerful xD... Just look at the DK state now, rotation is no-brainer and it doing devastate dps in PvP (I never second in DPS in any fight 3v3 )... so I think hunter will be more powerful in 5.4 with my CR xD

Just tried the public version in a BG, and so far im very impressed. Will probably buy the full version tonight. But i got a question, i hope thats allright The CC is greyed out, which is for the premium users. When i target a player and do the hotkey for freezing trap. It goes off just fine, but it does not turn off attacks or anything. Which will break the cc kinda quick ?
Hi! strange thing for me...my pet continue to cast growl and stole aggro to tank, i tried some option but the results are the same! Note: tank add mode disable!! Thanks for the answer.
Try using glyph of solace which will remove all DoTs etc once you use Scatter Shot or Trap on the target Won't break anything then
Are you going to focus on MM spec mostly? This seems to be the go to PvP spec for 5.4 from what we have seen.
Just been testing the free version and so far I'm blown away..this is AMAZING. Gonna buy the real version soon. Cant wait!
This isn't entirely true, there are a lot of pro hunters out there saying that the extra trinket from BM is still pretty gamebreaking and unless the other 2 specs FAR outshine BM in damage/utility, BM will still probably be the best all-round spec. MM is also very punishing to newer players, you really need to have very good positioning and awareness to be able to use the spec properly - with BM you can be LoS'd from your target and still be doing good damage because your Pet is your main source of Damage, and you can mess up and use your trinket for something you don't need to and still have your 1min BW trinket. With MM all your target has to do to stop damage is run around a pillar - which EVERY decent player knows - and all your pressure is gone. TL;DR MM and Survival are much more fun than BM, but they still probably won't be as viable if the changes that have so far been brought out are anything to go on.
Is the scatter shot/freezing trap currently working? Mine only rarely casts freezing trap after I scatter focus target - usually it just does nothing though.
Good point Mr Rank #3 hunter ^.^ If I play a healer, a MM will cry trying to hit me, pillar humping kill MM and SV hunter in 2v2
