[PAID] [Mage] Portal - An Advanced Honorbuddy Mage Routine [PvE/PvP]

Yeah, the premium version can, but there's a limit to how much I'm allowed to mention it in the first post. That one can be used from level 10 (or 12 as frost as there's a bug I need to fix...).

 

[06/Sep/2013 - Premium]
- Change to prevent Cone of Cold when target is Frozen.
- [Frost] Ice Lance is now top priority when the target is frozen (storing brain freeze procs until after the frozen debuff wears off).
- [Frost] FFB will now cast at level 10/11, and you don't have the frostbolt spell yet.
- Polymorph unit searching improved.
- No longer attempt to Polymorph shapeshifted druids (immune).
- Improved Polymorph on focused unit code (checks LoS + if already CC'd).

- No longer attempt to eat/drink in combat.
- Counterspell will now only cast on units which use mana (i.e. to blacklist hunters/warriors/rogues/DKs).
- No longer does Deep Freeze -> Counterspell (i.e. blowing 2 cool downs).
- Should no longer use Polymorph when we've already got someone Polymorphed already.
- No longer cast Polymorph twice in a row (removing it from our first target).

- Major bug fix to checking auras for cooldowns/cancel cast etc.
- Ice Barrier when set to always moved to RestBehavior and PreCombatBuffBehavior.
- [All Specs] Fixed canceling out current cast when target has a do not damage aura.
- If Ice Block on Cauterize, Cauterize activates, and we're casting -> Cancel our cast, and Ice Block.
- Should now cancel cast correctly when target has an aura we don't want to damage.

Taken 2 hours after I found this bug to re-work the entire sodding routine. It's working crazy good now in PvP. Time to spend another 2 hours re-working Demonic to resolve the same issue. Sigh. Don't think the free ones will suffer from the same issue as the logic isn't as advanced.

You do some really great work, mate. I'm using this with questing bot (with Kick's 1-58 for now, as my mage is level 32) and it's amazing. I was using it in dungeons earlier today and the Arcane Explosion changes you made are absolutely wonderful. Doing top DPS almost every dungeon because of this. Every now and then there's a paladin that will out DPS me as tank, but that's because pally is OP, in my opinion. Anyway, it's going great right now as Frost spec. Keep up the good work, my friend.

 

Which spec is recommended for simple raiding?
My ilvl is 504, but im not sure which spec gives the higher DPS with HB

 

I think it depends on the routine, but with Portal try Fire. According to stats from Spec Score 25H - DPS Bot - RaidBots - Web Tools for WoW Nerds it seems Fire is at the top of the charts for mages.

 

Believe arcane is top at the moment ? Someone else can probably confirm.

im having a problem with frost nova i have it set to use frost nova when unit in range but it uses it at start when noone is around at all. i just turned it off for now

I just had a thought for an improvement to the routine, if you'd like to do it. In the "Armors" section I see you have Never, Molten, Frost, and Mage. Add an Automatic option also. What it could do is pick the best armor for you, or if you only have one armor, it will cast that armor. I'm sure this will probably require more coding to choose what armor to use automatically, but it could be something as simple as basing your armor choice off your spec, unless you only have one or two armors. I just got Molten Armor a level ago, but the routine was set on Frost Armor, so I had to go in and change it to Molten Armor. When I get other armors I'll have to go back in and change it again. It's not too much work, so no worries there. I just thought having an "Automatic Armor" option would be helpful to cast the best choice for the spec you're using. You could probably base it off SimC, or some other site telling you what's best to use. Just an observation I made while leveling my mage.

 

Coding these little extra things are unnecessary and cause clutter.

 

Maybe so, which is why I said it was just an idea. Millz has said on occasion that if anyone has any ideas for his routines (Demonic and Portal) to post them, and if he likes them he will add them in at his convenience. So, I'll just leave it for him to consider, and if he likes it, he can do with it what he wants. I don't mind either way. I just figured it would be a convenience feature for users, not a requirement.

 

It'll do odd things like this during preparation of a battle ground or when just joining a group because of how the caching system works. It's on a 15 second loop to re-cache all enemies/friendly units, so shouldn't cause a problem once you actually get going. Besides - it looks less bot-like doing random stuff I find - other's don't do it

 

Hmm no issues adding it, but it's not really worth the effort adding all the different level checks and spec checks for the sake of changing the drop down. I might add it when I'm bored at work one day.

no its doing it when im in arena and i start attacking CC blows all cooldowns at start of fight witch is what i want but it also will use frost nova as well and nobody is even close to in range this normaly.
next time ill try to get you a log so you can see what im talking about. thanks.

 

Oh okay. That's not right then. Yeah post a log file and I'll have a look.

- Updated stealable buff list to be more accurate for the auras we actually want to steal (when the setting enabled).
- If target has a do not damage aura, or is out of LoS, attack a target which is in LoS and doesn't have a do not damage aura (so keep us always casting).

Could you please change Rune of Power so its not casting when not moving, to cast when in combat instead?
Looks very bottish to cast it in bigger cities everytime you stand still

how about adding an option to choose wether to cast alter time combo on boss or not ^^ it sucks to don't have it ready on boss pull
