I would wager than more than 6 hours a day increases the chance to get banned. Still there ton of ways to get banned, so never both on something that generate any kind of negative emotion besides mild irritation that you need to level a new char if you do get hit by the hammer.
I just lost one of my mains that i never bot on.. I needed some Ore, so i ran the bot and went to mining to fill my bags. Had maybe 30 slots open, took less than 3 hours. I use dual monitors so i was able to keep an eye on it while i was here working on something else. The account was banned the next day for "Unauthorized third party software". Take it however you wish.
Damn, sorry to hear. It seems a LOT more strict now? i had about a year break from botting and started again here 2 weeks ago and already had 4 accounts banned (not my main, and i gotta admit it was almost 24/7 which was no problem a year ago). Can they detect if i used honorbuddy 1 hour ago from now?
As long as you are botting, there's no such thing as being safe. You can bot for an hour and still receive the banhammer if you are unlucky. Always be prepared to get ban.
I had to laugh/Respond. I had about the same question going through my head but it was concerning 10hrs. Hell most farmers run 16hrs/Day
Lol... I've been botting for weeks non-stop and no bans 24/7. I however did get banned from flooding the auction house, I suggest you minimize what you do with your toon. I on the other hand just did it as an example that you could be banned easily since they monitor the auctions, putting a lot of stuff for auction puts you in their monitor radar. Before that I botted gatherbuddy while I slept, grind bot and archy, I've also done fishing with maps since stationary fishing is extremely easy ban. I'll be working on making some maps for these, but as far as bans go. As long as you don't over do it and you're careful never to get monitored you should be fine. If you use those 4 bots while you're asleep with the log me out plugin you should be fine. it's not 100% but it's close enough to keep you from being banned.
^I can back up the AH claim. Never had a ban on a account in 6 months of botting. 3 days of shuffling and posting got me 4 "suspicious activity blah blah please change password"
