Hello I thought it was time that I posted something here. This is just something that could be useful to a lot of new botters, the experienced ones SHOULD know about all this and shouldn't take the easy way out. (When I say profiles I mean the file telling HB/GB where to bot) As of now the 16th of February 2010, and as far as we know, HonorBuddy and GatherBuddy are not detected. However that doesn’t mean that you can not be banned for using it. During my first few 60-80’s using the mixed PVE and PVP farming I quickly noticed that quite a few other members using HonorBuddy and the same method as me. It was VERY obvious due to the fact that only a small handful of users bother to create their own profiles. On one of my characters I could watch no less than 6 people in my Alterac Valley battlegrounds that were running the very same path, hitting the same obstacles and handling them the same way. You can use a private server to create your meshes on, just be 100% sure that it is blizzlike, no customizations where you are "meshing". Therefore you should consider to take the little time it takes to create YOUR OWN and UNIQUE profile for the areas that you are going to farm. Sure you can go with using the default profiles, but it is just asking for a ban, when someone reports you for botting – yes it will happen, people talk about honor amongst botters, forget about it, it doesn’t exist. WoW is a business and more bakers means more bread and less customers for my bakery. I got banned..... If you do get banned, don’t jump to the forums and start raging in the “Ban forum”, do a quick assessment. What was I doing, where was I doing it, what could have gone wrong, did anything point towards me being detected? If yes then what? This will help the rest of us in trying to determine how we should prevent being banned and therefore losing a branch of our business or hobby. No, it is not a banwave just because you had 3-20 accounts banned. Types of ban: When - yes when - you get banned there are a few different types of ban that can hit you, I will try to sum up a few of them here, well the most common ones from the Ban forum anyways. You can almost be certain though that if HB/GB is detected it will be a permanent account closure. The common nominator when looking at these bans in the forum is that it seems most likely that most of the bans are caused by player reports, either from other botters, or “legit” players. Online trading activities This type of ban is often given when you have used powerleveling, bought or sold gold. It can result in a suspension or a permanent closure of your account. A 72 hour suspension and a final warning is often the way it’s done. PVP Arena/Battleground exploitation This type of ban is given if you have been caught doing malicious stuff in Arenas or Battlegrounds, this ranges from bug abusing to afk’ing in battlegrounds. This is where the usage of default routes like 20 others in your battleground comes into play. The bans vary, but are often reported as being 3hour bans. Economy exploitation This type of ban seems to be a “hmm we can’t think of anything else to ban for so we use this” kind of thing from Blizzard. People have reported being banned with this as the reason when they have pushed a lot of items into the AH, sold items to a vendor and sold gold to companies and other players. The length of this ban varies a lot, quite a lot of permanent bans and a few 72 hour ones. Can't do the time? Don't do the crime. ~ If you cant risk losing your account, Don't Bot.
Great information. I think bosslands has put it best numerous times.. "Don't bot on an account that you wouldn't mind losing." There is ALWAYS a risk when botting regardless of how many safeguards you put in place.
I prefer "cant do the time? Start botting" Kurios-- Edited the post and now its not leaking or w/e http://www.buddyforum.de/showthread...server-and-map-profiles-mesh-with-it!&p=12138 Its even smexier than before!! add it to your post if possible.
It's about a %75 chance of being banned tbh. Look at the amount of users in the forum, then look at the ban report forum, not many HOWEVER alot of people don't post they've been banned thus the %75. Of course this is an estimate, and there is no proof. However, it is rather safe using a mesh, you make out as if you use someone elses you'll get banned. Whenever I use someone elses, nobody else is there other then the occasional passer by. Well, on horde anyway.
