[PAID] [Mage] Portal - An Advanced Honorbuddy Mage Routine [PvE/PvP]

Hb has been doing this for years, it's highly annoying and causes a lot of deaths. I don't know who is able to change this behaviour, but it's been like this for years... always pulling a train of mobs while questing, even with kill between hotspot turned on (a lot of profiles turn this off to speed up leveling, causing deaths which will slow you down again).

 

Doesn't seem to be using Alter Time.... log attached

 

Alter Time (Offensive) is used when Icy Veins is active.

You've got Icy Veins set to be used on Burst activated -> but you hadn't activated burst - so no IV or AT were used.

 

Any mages successfully raids with this?

I have 556 ilvl, and i do really bad dps with this routine.

Any suggestions?

Only ilvl 510, doing LFR only, always 5th or 6th in dps, using Frost. Nothing tweaked in the settings, just straight out of the box and using Tyrael. Character tweaked as per Ask Mr. Robot, build as per http://www.wowpopular.com/Mage

Quoting my ranking is awesome and all ... but now every single week I am getting top 100 on 4-5 bosses. Including Galakras, Iron Juggernaut, Shamans and a couple others. So yeah, can't say it enough. Awesome routine. Worth the money, but make sure you set it up correctly.

 

Wowpopular is quite wrong. No respectable mage is going to use incanters ward or frost bomb. On top of that, PoM is kind of useless over Ice Floes. Mobility is much better than a free instant cast of anything the mage class has unless you PvP

I suggest you change your talents up if you are going by the most popular one on their site.

 

Millz .. I'm not enjoying the fact that I now have to log into the routine every time I want to use it. Can you put it back to the way it was?

 

Bought the premium routine and it's working out pretty good. My only gripe is that manual cast detection seems to not be working (despite it saying it is in the logs). I'm mostly having trouble using stuff like Ice Block/Greater Invis/Blink manually to try and do stuff like soak on Malk. Log attached.

 

Well works fine for me with those talents, but I know no better because my mage is just an alt I am having fun with, if something works and needs no tweaking I am simply happy at that.

Suggest a tree for me with glyphs then if you don't mind, I'll give it a whirl just to see how high I can get then if mine is so bad I only PVE and only LFR, don't have the time for organised raiding.

Noticed it works with non modifer keys (shift, alt etc). Are there plan for modifiers and mousekeys? My blink is bound to mouse button 5

edit: also, is there a way to configure it so the bot will clip living bombs when you have a big trinket proc up?

 

Still on the to-do list. Unfortunately I've had to spend quite a lot of time on the new auth system recently (and still lots to do on it).

You shouldn't need to be logging in manually each time - I've forced a fresh re-login twice now, but it should still be logging you straight in 99% of the time - anyone else seeing this issue ?

Yeah modifier keys had to be disabled because it broke lots of other stuff.

DoT snapshotting is on the to-do list.

Presence of Mind does provide a very small DPS gain on encounters that do not require movement, but these encounters do not really exist (even in LFR). So go with Ice Floes.

Temporal Shield should be the default choice here, because it is off the global cooldown, meaning that using it is not a DPS loss. Use it before taking large hits.

Teir 3 talents are all about crowd control. Not a big deal in the PVE environment. I use Frostjaw but simply because I like having two silences during Galakras and Garrosh.

Cauterize to me is the best choice when it comes to this routine. No casting of extra spells to slow it down, and it uses Ice Block instantly to keep your health up and avoid any additional damage.

Living Bomb is your highest dps spell.

Invocation. Personally, this is far superior to Rune of Power in that I have way more maneuverability. I don't have to stay around a rune on the floor without having to recast it if I need to move far away.

Glyph of Splitting Ice - Small boost to multiple target DPS.
Glyph of Icy Veins - Helps prevent GCD locking from high Haste.
Glyph of Water Elemental - Improved utility for your Water Elemental.
Glyph of Momentum - Improved mobility with Blink.

As you said though, you don't really care about your dps, but using these choices will max your dps out with the most maneuverability. Although LFR doesn't require you to move to much as the mechanics hit like a little girl.

Is it just me or does everyone's water elemental just stand around and do nothing. I am starting to get whispers as to why my elemental doesn't attack/defend anything. I have tried to change settings and make it do something but it still does nothing, surely it is just me ?

Did just buy the Premium I saw someone did say 1 to 72 hours... :| I have the warlock CR and LOVE it so please send me that upgrade link so i can rock some mage hehe

 

Ilvl for ilvl lock will rock a mages world in pve. But they do decent millz will prolly be on soon.
