All moss covered chests are linked to quests named (by blizz) "One Time Chest - ###" Leading me to believe these are not respawnable.
Confirm that no cloak is needed! I can confirm that you don't need a cloak for this chest. I was able to get it using an albatross bird and also a friend on his priest was able to leap of faith me out of the air when I jumped off the broken bridge. I did both of these today on a hunter.
You can still get there with flying from pandaria, and any slowfalling/survive-after-crash skill works - Even if you die, u are ported to the Ordos GY, and can corpserun to the chest yard. Plenty of guides on OC regarding it.
to get blazing, just hit one of the flying seagulls - highwind albatross - hit it once - and itll lift u up and do a circle of island, to get down/off - just attack it and kill it
Why the fuck not? Many people got 10 chars 10* 45 min i think you can do the rest of the math............
i would also love to have a bot that farms the chests for u since i have 8 alts i really would appreciate it if some one does it
as a grinding profile, it's much less work, since you can tie the pickups and locations into ObjectGatherer (not sure of the object ID's), and run 4 loops of the island, 2 inner loops, 2 outer loops to avoid the frogs and the rare spawn areas. ideally. converting this into an quest script, might end up being an alternative option too, as the quest mechanics need some tuning. a possible hybrid quest chain + chest farming script could be added, with minimal changes. sadly. e.g. by tying the chest grind loop into the opening quest line, it guarantees the player has enough timeless coins to buy a glider to grab the blazing chest near ordos, or, just setting up something that can mount up at the fatigue point outside of TI, mounting up, and gliding into the courtyard, depending on how easy or accurate the albatross QB is. and you'd kind of need a QB to handle the movement and positioning and combat start and stop. some behaviors have to be created for the more problematic locations, and methods, mainly the glider, using and fighting the albatross, and some of the spawn areas need some timers and such, etc. third, is a mailbox vendor that needs the "gossip" option, because bliz likes to be difficult. fourth, is the problem of the jumping puzzle locations and getting CR or QB to "jump" and correct precise locations. also some kind of avoidance of elite/rare mobs and their CR effects. which is pretty much all of the rares, and 99% of the elite mobs that respawn in the ordos/bridge areas. luckily, MMO-Champ has an article on how to split the work into 5 parts, which makes a sectional profile easier. In-depth Timeless Isle Hidden Chest Guide! http://media.mmo-champion.com/images/news/2013/august/timelessIsleChests.jpg Zone 1 is NW corner, 2 is SW corner, 5 is the albatross routes. if combined with the 5 or 6 quests, you can also split the albatross chests into 4 parts, since there's a few "pick up" points (4 so far according to wowhead) , one's near the huolon spawn/range point so it can be easier to be seen standing in one spot (or grinding mobs), the other is on the east side of the courtyard and the other is closer to the shaohao grind area as well. in theory they spawn every 30 seconds. but not always. zone 3 can be run at the same time as the kairoz "explore the seriously hazardous area under the bridge with panthers (weak)/gulp frogs" (dying after 10 stacks is hilarious, once) zone 4, can be done with the grind rares for epoch stones and rep quest from shaohao, zone 5/6 are usually on the same path as many ordos grinders and huolon campers, so it might get messy to put these up first, even though they are generally easy to farm, you can also get ganked here by respawning mobs.
I don't know about everyone else, but I have picked up several Moss Chests and a couple Sturdy Chests, 2 smouldering chests. So they have been respawning for me idk why they wouldnt for anyone else.
I have not been able to get any chests I have previously picked up on the same character, I guess the profile will just make sure we haven't missed any we can grab. and ofcourse the RNG is against me and I get cloth and leather drops on my paly G
Nope. You won't see them more than once. There are some daily and weekly chests (possibly. People should find out in a few hours if there's weekly resets.) They are handled just like some of the lost & found artifacts in pandaria, some can be repeated, some are once per-character, some are once per-account, some are bugged, some are daily and weekly respawns, sic, etc.
Then something has bugged for me to be able to get more than one. There was 2 times that I was able to loot the Smouldering chest as it appeared for me in the same spot a second time the day after I looted it the first. I also have repeatedly found Moss chests at varius locations around the island. I believe there was another type of chest that I had found a second time in the same location as the first one I looted.
I haven't done one yet because mounting is still broken on the isle. Any questing QBs (IW for example) as well as HB itself that want to move to something that does not have a straight line path, it will try to fly, since this is technically Jade Forest, and Jade Forest allows flying. I have reported this issue to the devs and they are working on it (hopefully ) so until then, I did not want to make a half working Grind profile, as most chests are not reachable under normal "just go there and click" rules. Also, the weekly chests, considering what it takes to reach them, I will not be doing profiles for. Too much jumping and precision needed.
That is not the chest "farming" this thread is referring to. This thread is referring to the chests you open around the Isle, not the treasure room you spend coins on for keys. If I didn't already do all the chests on all my characters, I'd pump out a quick profile for this. It would still be viable in WoD for fresh level 90s who want to go up from their ~420 ilvl to 460+ with what they find from a quick 15-30 min chest run.
