I was banned this morning for using GB2 just mining/herbing and got a perma ban on my druid. I wasn't using any addons, but I was using superbad4.0 combat routine. Could superbad 4.0 combat routine be the reason?? 1)Were you using Honorbuddy, Gatherbuddy or both on the account? Gatherbuddy 2)Which version (and Beta or Release)?: release 3)If so, when was the last time?: last night, until being banned at 4am EST 4)What profile were you using?: Fly_Felwood_175_250[HB].xml from Tony 5)What combat class were you using? Feral Druid 6)What plugins are you using?: none 7)How many hours per day did you bot for?: about 8-10 8)What honest percentage of time did you supervise your bot? 50-75% depending on the day 9)How many auctions per day did you have?: 0 10)Did you Use Any Other Bots, Hacks, or Mods? none 11)Was your account involved in gold selling? no 12)EU or US realm?US 13)Is the banned account a Scroll of Resurrection or an actual paid account? Paid
Most likely you were reported and a GM visually confirmed you botting. If you appeal the ban (assuming it's permanent) it'll very likely be reverted to a 72h ban. If it's a 72 hr ban, don't appeal it. It's very unlikely it was the routine that was the reason you were banned.
GB2 is how you were detected, read all the ban reports and you will see GB2 is the main culprit. Fill out the ban template and we will understand more about your ban
I didn't see anything about gb2 in the ban reports section, mainly just pqr/pe stuff which I never used either.
I don't know how you managed to not know this, but gatherbuddy is a guaranteed ban. it has been that way for about 1.5 years now and keeps getting worse. anything over an hour or two per day (and sometimes even that) gets banned within weeks. there is no way to avoid it except dont ever run GB2
Probably because I've only had it for a month?? Hmm yeah that could be it. I haven't read about very many bans with GB2.
Probably because a month is plenty of time to look into the ban section of the forum to see what people are getting nailed for most frequently? Hmm yeah that could be it.
This made you banned generally fast enough. There are 2 common scenarios: Your account triggers several (specific is unknown to the public for obvious reasons) criterias for serverside flag, then: 1. The server autobans you. 2. You pay a visit by GM, who manually test if your toon is bot or not, and usually action you with manual ban (which definitely is harder than the autoban). With the ban letter and the following appeal, its easy to guess which way you were banned. 1. After appeal, if your account is with clean record, every Customer support, even on Livechat or phone can revert the ban to 72h. 2. After appealing manual ban, its harder for the common Customer support to revert ban from GMs (which generally are superior to the guys and girls on the Livechat/Phone), and they have to escalate further, so you have to wait for answer by mail from GM, who have to deal with your ban.
This is mot likely, why you were banned... Botting 8-10 hours a day is not smart. Especially with Gatherbuddy and with 50%-75% supervision...
We can point this out until the end of time. People will still come running to the forums with ban reports claiming they had no idea what they did wrong. If people took a bit of time to come here and at least educate themselves on "safe" botting, they'd save quite a bit frustration on their part and ours.
I've been botting with GB2 for the last 1.5 years and have had 0 problems, made well over 3 million gold and still running stong. I only run at a max of 8 hours a day and always drop back bot time after patches and weekly resets due to high pop logged in AKA more people to report you.
You likely supervise your bot and take measures to make sure you're not stuck running into a wall for an hour though, right? AKA botting wisely.
