This is how I did it. I originally was banned for using third party applications which I only use gatherbuddy. I first opened a ticket and told them that I use addons but that I thought that was ok etc etc. The ticket was open for about an hour so I decided to use the call back feature as well. He basically told me that he had no control over this and I would have to wait for a response. Around 9 hours the ticket had still been open and all this time I am freaking out because this is my main account for about 5-6 years. I then decided to go to live chat using "My account is locked and I want to unlock it" I basically told him that I was a war veteran with one leg on disability and that this game was my life. I dedicated most of my time to this game and that if it was because I was online for a prolonged period of time that was the reason. I told him that I did use many addons but I thought they were ok. This was his reply. Thanks for waiting, so had to do some double checking and we did find some third party software that isn't permitted to be used, I know you said you used addons so you might want to rethink any of the ones you're using and I hate to say but I can't go into detail on exactly what the addon is but I was able to get the account to be unbanned to a 72 hour lock starting today and will unlock in 72 hours from now, I apologize I can't go into more detail on this though. After this I told him that I loved him. Needless to say I will not be using honorbuddy on my main account or under the same IP address. Hope this helps some others that are still trying to get unbanned.
As a war veteran with REAL disabilities, I hope your account gets PERMA banned. You should be ashamed of yourself for using an excuse like that. SHAME ON YOU!!
fuck that, i told them i was a cancer patient in recovery and that wow helped me recover faster mentally and it was a big comfort. the shame is that you actually have to use that kind of excuse to get ur shit back
That type of social engineering does sometimes work, but is something I would never do (as stated in my ban template thread about a year ago) as it's really wrong.
Im sure that type of response will not help in most cases. They get that bs from people all the time and its unfortunate for those who really are disabled.
how is it unfortunate for those who are really disabled, why would they get special treatment in cases like this? im pretty sure a normal hardcore wow nerd is just as much attached to his wow account as an disabled person, i know for a fact i'd stab someone irl if they hacked my acc when i was at my worst
