I bot for myself, making some gold (not that much, sometimes i make 0 per day, sometimes i make 10k .. ). Usually i play my chars using Tyrael and a combat routine so i do the movement (for example i farm for like 4 hours motes or cloth etc). I was using gatherbuddy with randombuddy to gather some ores like 2 hours every 3-4 days (so i was using this to get ores for my cooldowns, if i sold some ores on ah was like 20-30 stacks every 3-4 days if i had a surplus). I'm ussualy on the computer when my bot gathers playing on the other account. I use logmeout to see if i'm stuck/dead etc - it beeps when it triggers. Looking at the game to see if my char is doing something unusual (flying in circle, stuck etc). But sometimes i let it gather for 1 hour ... but never had a problem (stucked, received wishpers etc) - but well... i'm around the house but don't know exactly what my bot is doing. When i leave my bot unsupervised most of the time is when i grind (for transmog). I'm doing this from time to time killing mobs for like 5-6 hours - i transfer myself to a low pop/pve realm when i do this. Observer at first the bot but it grinds a small place and nothing special happens. So i just start the grind and check a movie, work on laptop etc looking on what the bot is doing from time to time (i didn't set a mail/repair so at 1-2 hours i stop, repair... mail some items and continue). When i got the ban i was queing for arenas (with 2 accounts) just to enter and leave if there is another team or stay for the free win. Low rating ofc (under 200) ... you kinda get alot of free wins so i grinded my conquests this way alot of time. I got a DC then i saw in battle.net desktop application the message that my account is suspended until a date (72h). Received that second an email with reset the password ("If you did not request this password reset, it is possible that this Battle.net account has been accessed by someone not authorized to do so."). So well, now i guess i have to play it cool for a while... This is the second 72h i receive and the second in total - last one wasn't on this account but on another on same bnet but was something with Final warning - and i was just first one - for Type of Violation: Exploitation Category of Violation: Third Party Program - that one i think it was different or they changed the wording). I was expecting this to happen, after all i'm using a bot Just was in denial saying it won't happen to me. LE: forgot about something that made me think when i saw the reason of ban. got a char stuck in shrine on some barrels/walls etc (but it was legit as fuck , i was not using a bot just i wanted to get to mail, jumped and come to that stuck and i tried and managed to escape from there in like 1 minute or so humping the wall/jumping, trying to put a portal etc alot of people around, maybe somebody reported me thinking it is a bot stucked there... but rly, i know 2 places in both horde and alliance shrines where you can get yourself stuck cause you tried to jump or get somewhere faster :-s
this is really dumb on a main account. it makes VERY little gold but you get a very real risk of permaban. if you want gold that bad you want a separate account. its seriously not worth it otherwise
maybe. kinda in doubt that this is the reason for ban. when i got last ban using gatherb/or proffesionbudy i got to know the char that was found with that and reason was third party program. now i don't know what they beleived i did... i'm sure if they caught me botting they will perma no? anyway, i won't appeal since it seems the way to go with this 72h suspensions... but i'm thinking if i accept it is not like i admit it? but then again i'm sure that if i will appeal they will look over and who knows what they realise and change it to a perma ban
You triggered some kind of autoban, no idea what from what you have provided, indeed. Or 2nd option, you got reported from someone in the tiny sessions of your gatherbotting. Yea, tons of ppl report nowadays, even without targeting you, but only by using /who jade forest etc. and reporting all the miners/herbalists.
was thinking the same of an autoban (cause of the change password email). but for what? what can they set for autoban? cause is kinda tricky... you can ban legit players easy.
GatherBuddy, plain and simple. Using that bot nowadays is pretty much a death sentence to your account.
