Didn't test this yet, just saw this post but i can tell i'm excited already after reading this thread!!! About damn time we get a raid ready free routine for shadow!! can't stand how the other guy routine cast the fourth mind blast instead of dumping the 3 orbs already generated just because 'it's the free version'... so tired of farming Hsoo after months. this will get used on farm days if it truly holds good dps, will be testing this on my 576 priest tonight and will let you know tomorrow how it was!
Try running it in a clean Honorbuddy with Tyrael as bot base and Hardlock enabled, softlock disabled and 30 tps. See if that runs better and if it doesn't stutter it's something in your old honorbuddy that causes it. If it does stutter it might be something in your system. Stuttering can be anything, realy. But as it seems to run smooth with the majority i am inclined to think this is a issue caused by either you comp or another plugin not being compatible with framelock.
I have the most recent Honorbuddy and I'm running Tyrael on 30 tps, maybe i need to clean up my computer or my wow cache?
You need to troubleshoot first so you can narrow down the possibilities before you can start solving the problem. Narrow down the possibilities first and try as stated in my first respons.
Fuck, I just came back to wow and wanted to start over. Now I cant decide between a spriest and lock :/
I love playing a priest, I am a disc right now and I really want to try this out too, but I'm an active raider and all my guildies are like "Shadow is not so good man", while I see youtube videos of shadow priests just owning the dmg meters, so I'm kind of confused really..
Check WoL rankings. Shadow Priests are doing fine. And with the upcomming changes in 6.0 Shadow Priest is looking to be a promising and fun spec in WOD. No reason to not do it "cause someone says it's shit" imo. And secondly, you can always have it as a dps off spec, increasing your value as a raider.
This is a great routine! the multi dot is amazing and very fast, im still changing settings here and there to fit each hsoo encounter but the first test was a success and i was impressed with the results. This is exaclty what i wanted, a (free)routine good enough to use on farm days or whenever i dont feel like raiding 100%. made my last tuesday farm much more enjoyable I had some problems with MFI though, getting clipped the wrong way but i have to play around a bit more and plus i raid with around 160ms so idk what to think about it but i def prefer the way i clip the spell by hand, my gnosis shows me everything! Another thing I noticed is that sometimes you actually want to cast a 2 orb DP ( that open when u have zero orb at pull and then everything procs, and WILL fall before the third orb) not sure if the routine can handle this and its not that big deal on multi targets but it will boost your single target damage. uploading tues run up to hspoil. Hey, thanks for testing it out! I am glad you enjoyed it. Could you discribe what it does during mind flay clips? And what it should do? And what goes wrong? The DP on 2 orbs is a bit tricky. I will marinade the idea a bit but atm i don't think i will work it in the routine. My idea here is is that it is a highly complex check (10.000 possible auras and trying to value them) for a very small benifit. What i could advice at this point is cast the DP with macro casting (check first post for info) if you want it earlier than the normal 3 orbs. If i however come up with a good way of implementing this i will for sure.
Yeah man the DP thing is just a minor dps gain anyway i imagine thats a lot of work to calc all the auras and decide if its worth the cast. About the clipping thing, theres a image that explain well how it works: View attachment 121659 Instead of clipping right after the second tick, its allowing the third tick to go off before recasting. But again, i play with somewhat high latency for this kind of stuff and its possible thats the reason im getting this result. for example, i had the routine interrupting the MFI to re-cast it because it was about to expire the dot but then it would be too late and a regular MF would go off losing that last cast interrupted. I need more testing though! another thing i experienced was getting silenced by thok a few times yesterday, do you think its possible that because im manual casting DS to heal players my timer goes off or something? the vast majority of silences the routine cancelled correctly. sorry for the bad english
Can't see the image you linked somehow. What the MFI should do is keep MFI up, refresh it at certain clip settings (ms) and extend the MFI right when DP ends. What it does is extend the "window" in wich it will refresh MFI by the latency. So lets say you got MFI clipping set to < 300 ms left on Insanity Channeling time and your latency 160ms it will actually recast MFI when insanity channeltime is less then 300 + 160 = 460 ms. Your latency does effect the MFI workings indeed. I will look into making these buffer scale according to haste. Could you look for me when the errors happen, what are the conditions haste wise? High haste procs etc? I cannot reproduce this error so you gotta give me as much info as possible. The Thok thing i know. It's not fail safe. I am working on it, keep updating you version.
ill just have to play around and find the right moment to clip, we want it to recast as soon the second tick is out, like in this illustration: http://i.imgur.com/V9joo37.png About the haste thing, I have the haste cap (18215 rating, 50%), and yes I think i experienced the problem both with and without lust, i got no other haste buff on my setup. If i get some free time today ill play around with the ms clipping option on a dummy to see if i can maximize MFI uptime, not sure if i raid on my priest till sunday so I can't really test on a real fight for now.
Thanks man. I think i can calculate according to haste % when is the best time to clip. Atleast i should be able to detirmine when each tick will occur. This looks realy good. Gonna look into this and get back to you! Cheers!
Hi loxx -- Apparently something's happened to your download link and SVN. I tried to download the file from the first post after it failed to update from the SVN. Could you look into this? You didn't mention anything in any posts about taking the file down, so I'm just guessing that something happened to it.
