so i'm about to get started to bot on wow. I was wondering though: if i would be botting on 1 wow account (on a vm) and playing legit on the computer itself (shared ip adress) will both get banned when they detect the botting software on 1 account? or will they only ban the botting account? Kind regards
Should and will are two different things... It all depends on how closely the GM investigates your account. They may only ban the botting account, or you may get hit on both accounts. There's no set answer.
One would imagine the GM would only ban the bot account because many people have family that play WoW on the same IP. I got banned on one account while my brother (who didn't bot) did not get banned.
pretty much. if you do obvious things like mail everything to your main and then sell it all, they might put the two together.
They could (very unlikely) ban both accounts. But what if they do? Couldn't you easily tell them your brother/sister/whatever plays wow on the same house? I may be completely wrong but I think they have no way of proving otherwise, and therefor should have your main account's ban lifted.
Lol, Ghostcrawler. What do you think WoW is, a democracy? Blizzard does whatever they want, whenever they want to any account. They don't have to prove anything to anyone.
That may, unmistakably, be one of the most common excuses when being banned (for anything). When I worked on private servers and gaming communities, the number one reason people used when trying to appeal a ban is that their friend/family got a hold of their account and did said actions. I would faceroll and close their appeal.
