Hey folks, I recently sold 45k Gold on a Server to a private buyer, who contacted me on Ebay. He bought 45k and another 22k. With different Paypal Accounts. I was wondering, but didn't really realize it till today, as I get an Email from paypal, that the money was withdrawn again, and the User said it was accounttheft. I documented the Gold transfer with Screenshots, and have the whole ICQ discussion in Log. Any chance I'll get my money back? Sth like that already happened to you? Feedback pls. Rhomb
due to the fact that gold selling is illegal i dont know iff paypals policy would back that up, i hope for you that you do ..
They won't your gold is lost. PayPal does not help people that either bought a service, or a Intangible good(something you can't touch if i'm correct). they say, hey well sorry we can't help its intangible and not supported by us. bye!
1st only sell with ebay ore other trade sites 2nd write allways in discription something like intangible virtual item 3rd make a phone test ore something like this 4th google the adress and the icq sry but i dont think you get the money, but maybe you have luck
I have it happened to me before. Didnt get my refund back. and i sold 100k. Sigh. with screenshots and proofs. no use if its a hacked account. should have verified.
R.i.p 45k gold ( maybe a tip for next time handle your gold more carefully and when someone wants to buy a amount that big maybe face to face instead of making this mistake again )
thats wrong, they have actual new things on trade like online send of cd keys, gold chars etc. its named: "intangible virtual items"
how to make sure online trade is safe ? i can make a paypal here and let my friend who study overseas place the order and take your gold, then i here at my own country report the account theft... i get both gold and my money back... ugh, nowadays its hard to bot and its even harder to sell... no chance getting your money back, try file a report to Blizzard saying hack/he buy gold, hoping to get back the gold or atleast ban his account for doing all these
I always sell in small amounts, as soon as I got 10k, I sell them, which is twice a day on different servers
I dont understand why everyone says paypal wont help due to the fact that selling gold is against Blizzard ToS, or because its virtual goods. I have sold gold to private buyers, i have also sold other forms of virtual goods. And the fact is, even if you sold 'illigal goods' the buyer has scammed you off of a currency, item, or whatever you have sold. Blizzards ToS and the fact that gold selling is not allowed, has nothing to do with paypal, so was i told by paypal themselfs. If Blizzard asks paypal of anything of you, well they are to give it to them. However, that said. Even screenshots or logs of the convo between you and him, will not really prove that the paypal account wasnt compromised.
Well thats a mistake i won't make again. What other , easy to user, offered payment methods are out there?
Ukash, Liberty Reserve then go to a crash-trader. Ukash/Liberty to Paypal. Okay indeed you will lose some cash but at least you can be sure u don't lose your money due to a ripper.
Also worth actually noting that ingame gold has no value thus no consideration so technically when you sell gold you're receiving money for nothing = basic contract law states no consideration = no contract unless contained within a deed.
