Ive tried both Fire and Arcane, cant get high numbers with Portal. I raid as frost, and iam not in the top. But in the top 10 atleast
Can people share their save set up for Portal? I would really appirate different profiles (frost or fire) . So far I get around top 3 all times in dungeons and looking for more ways to increasing dps. I followed the guide that was written by one of the members but it doesn't seem to do much .
Ta. Have saved the list of cast-time crowd controls. Will add it in at some point soon. Same for the heavy hitting spells. Any healing -> it doesn't matter whether its a focus target or not - it just interrupts them when they're casting. Fire -> I've read all sorts of guides and stuff, and attempted to make the required changes in the 'experimental pve rotation' however it doesn't seem to work that well. If anyone has suggestions I'm more than happy to implement them and give it a try - that's why I put this experimental rotation in so that it's easy to mess with without breaking the default rotation. I believe arcane is better than fire currently though. Post a log file - might have some obvious stuff that can be changed
I can't get it to start casting. I fire it up and it just says "you are too far away". If I walk right up to the dummy/mob it will melee it once then start up it's proper rotation but it will not start from a any distance aside from that. Any ideas?
I dont know if this can be done or what but on mobs that dont fully die and even sometimes on mobs that do die the cc still trys to cast things on it making my char look like it's stutter/cast/juke really fast can others see this?also i dont have this problem on any other chars/cc but seems to lockup game for a sec when a mob does a knockback/deathgrip type move. added a log just incase
If you have an issue with the routine, it's best to post a log so Millz can look into it. Without the log, there is very little that he can do besides throw darts in the air and guess what the problem is.
Millz, As always thanks for your response. I am not complaining and will stick with frost for now. Your routines are what keep me playing and having fun. Thanks for the hard work.
Mills i have a question about fire and arcane rotations. On arcane, sometimes it starts alter time without 2x procs on arcane missles and without trinkets procced On fire, it uses alter time on mobs everytime instead of boss or player. Could you do something like, Use alter time on 2x proc on arcane missles + 4 stack of arcane blast on arcane And Only use alter time on bosses with proccs on fire.

You need to control movement/targeting/facing in the free version - including getting into range to engage in combat. Hey - Not really sure what you mean by this. Is it a particular mob where it's doing it? Doing it all of the time? Arcane -> It's only checking for 1 stack of missiles rather than 2. 99% of the time you'll have 2 stacks anyway, but delaying the usage of Arcane Power for that extra stack could mean a full new cycle of building charges up again, which would be a DPS loss overall (as you aren't using AP quick enough). Alter Time is used as soon as Arcane Power becomes active. It doesn't track trinkets, but that's probably worth adding in. I'll add this to my list. Fire -> I'll fix alter time on 'normal' mobs. It is used on procs though, Pyroblast! with the normal rotation, and both Pyroblast! and Heating Up with the 'experimental' rotation. Im talking about mobs like Master Snowdrift in Shado-Pan Monastery where u dont fully kill them they just change to invulnerable the cc will still try and spam cast spells on these kinda mobs and makes the char look like its going nuts,and the lag is with any npc that has knockdown or deathgrip type ability
think i found whats causing the stutter/lag when effected by knockback/deathgrip type ability slow fall when falling was enabled seems to bug out game when those ability are used and thats enabled.
Hello I use the mage routine for a while already and it works really well! (All Spe) But I encounter a minor problem, but greatly affects the DPS Alter time and trinkets proc, it sometimes happens that alter time is run just before the proc trinket which cancels the buff There is a way to fix this or what is technically impossible?
The only issue I have around this is that you need to wait for 'all of the stars to align'. It's fine on the first pull - chances are you'll get your trinkets proccing early, but it's after the 2 minutes CD is up and you're ready to use it again. You could be delaying alter time for 40s-60s while waiting for another proc to be ready. The only solution I can think of at the moment is putting a limit of ~10 seconds or so to wait before using Alter Time again, but it's the logistics behind tracking that value that I'm unsure of yet. So it's casting against them, then canceling, or it's just spam casting against it? It has code in to prevent casting against evading mobs, but not invulnerable ones (other than the PvP/specific aura checks). Suppose it's a toss up between do you loose the trinket buff and let Alter Time run it's course, or do you cancel Alter Time (loosing all of the procs etc) and keep the trinket buff going. Either of these can be done, but I'm not sure which method is best.
Ok so thought I would try this routine with millz bgfarmer. So setup with the guide on the front page and made changes to suit afk. But so far it has been lack luster to say the least. On average i'm dieing about 12 times per bg and getting about 2-3 killing blows. I know some guys her say this is great for pvp so I am hoping some kind folks can help and share some aft bg settings to help me out. Also noticed it does some silly stuff like when about 10 hord protecting a flag/base it will run through them and try to capture the flag/base instead if well going else where on the map or else picking them off from distance. Thanks Edit* Forgot to say, counter spell seems strange on some targets when it has a choice of 4 in some cases it will not dispell any.
What's your item level when in PvP gear ? You in full PvP gear (i.e. no PvE items...) ? It does have the odd suicide moment, but it's a lot better than it used to be Counterspell -> depends on your settings really - what have you got it set to CS?
530 ilvl in pvp, counter spell is set to target and healing and i did another few rbg after and it rocked those got 17 killing blows and 3-5 deaths and spell stealing worked like a charm. but I do think there are times when it just get confused. Bty does your bgfarmer work in arena, I wanna afk to cap so I can complete my gearing
