This thread is just stating why I (ME, PERSONALLY) would not "Like" Honorbuddy on Facebook.

      - For one, I use Honorbuddy on my main account that I started 2 years ago. This account has my REAL contact information on it (real name, matches the name on my Facebook). If this describes you, then you might want to pay attention to this post.

      - Secondly, everyone knows Blizzard knows about this program, and every other program that violates their ToS / EULA. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Blizzard worked with these companies to make profit. (Think about it, they make money off of the Bot, then ban people to make it look like they're doing their job, then they buy another account, making them even more money.) THIS IS VERY POSSIBLE! (<3 you boss)

      - So, we all know there's these adds on here about "Liking" Honorbuddy on Facebook, Blizzard sees theses too. What's stopping them from just strolling on over to the good ol' FB and checking out who "Likes" this program. Blizzard Employee- "Oh look, John Doe "likes" HB, lets just check if we have a John Doe in our system... Oh, hai Mr. Doe, you're a botter, no more account for you :) Please feel free to pay for another account and 3 expansions though."

So sure, if you use a WoW account with a fake name and whatnot then you probably have nothing to worry about, and hell, the chances of Blizzard using this method to find botters is probably slim - none, but I'm not taking my chances with anything. Right now I truly believe there is NOTHING but the raw data of my account play time that could possibly link my account to botting, and I want to keep it that way :)

you can "like" whatever you want, do you really think blizzard is going to care? its not an admittance of guilt, and they cant ban you via facebook, everyone knows how blizzard does business and banning people via facebook isnt one of them, now if your a hardcore raider, and you post on the forums, and that leads people to your face book, then people on your realm know who you are, and can make that link and report you in game. but blizzard still wont do anything until they can know that your botting.

Thanks, I was pretty much just thinking about how anything that could possible link these Forums to a name that is on your WoW account could be bad.

Including those little links like "Tweet this post."

Hopefully some people who thought nothing of it will read this thread and be enlightened :)

Well exactly, but, and just in my opinion, if I were a Blizzard employee, and I noticed that somebody "Liked" this program's FB page, I would be suspicious.
I'm not trying to say that they will just ban you because of Facebook, but it would certainly put a big target on your head.

like i said, maybe 2 or 3 years ago, when the game first came out, and glider was still up, they would of done that, but now with automated banning systems with no style, theres no way they would pay a person to investigate 1000's of peoples accounts to "Maybe" find a a link. its too much work for too little gain.

Yes, bot and accept the risks, but don't create any additional risks for yourself :)

yes, and really what it boils down to is, if you have a tin foil hat on, then dont use facebook, its just that simple, ive already explained how it wont happen, not by blizzard anyway. and if your real name = account real name, or honorbuddy forum name = WoW Account name, then you really, really need to rethink your not getting banned Strat.

Idd, no one says that you HAVE to be in the HB face group or push the i like button. In my situation i don't use the same email on facebook as for my wow account. In the end it's actually a fail by you. You could have made a new mail.

ok well before this turns into all out flaming, The Pro's and Con's have been discussed, and ultimately its up to the user to decide if they want to use the service or not.

With that Said, Im Locking the Thread.

      Thanks,
