Firstly i would like to point out that I have never been or ever will be a hardcore botter. I did use a second account to bot with as I would not want to risk losing my main but all i used it for was topping up my profession mats for crafting and occasionally to make stuff to sell if i needed gold for a specific item. I have never had more than 100k gold (and thats across 11 lvl 90 toons!) I simply have the attention span of a gnat when it comes to farming ore/herbs and preferred to automate it whilst i play my main account. 1)Were you using Honorbuddy, Gatherbuddy or both on the account? Gatherbuddy 2)Which version (and Beta or Release)?: Latest release 3)How many hours per day did you bot for?: maybe once or twice per month for around 15 hours spread over a few days 4)What honest percentage of time did you supervise your bot? 99-100% until the day i was banned 9)How many auctions per day did you have?: rarely auctioned usually no more than 5-10 stacks max 10)Did you Use Any Other Bots, Hacks, or Mods? Nope 11)Was your account involved in gold selling? No I barely made enough for myself lol 12)EU or US realm? EU 13)Is the banned account a Scroll of Resurrection or an actual paid account? paid 14)Background information. Having been quite successful with the bot for a while and completely avoided the boring ore grind i became complacent and left my bot unattended whilst i ran an errand. I was spotted by a player and reported (possibly by several others.) when i returned i found my account banned I immediately opened a ticket apologizing for breaking the rules and the ban was reduced to a 72 hour suspension but i think that will be the end of my botting as i would prefer not to lose the account altogether.
So you admitted to botting and didn't use the "I got hacked" excuse? I'm just trying to figure out what to do incase I get banned.
Yeah i guess it depends on the circumstances, i only used one bot and never regularly or for unreasonable amounts of time. If you have several bots for example, and they can see a suspicious level of activity then it would be harder to pass off as a personal use thing. I guess people like myself are an annoyance but they are really after the more prolific botters.
