You can choose to play the "oops I botted and got caught, I won't do it again, Mr. Blizzard" card, or you can deny it. Personally I feel like denying it is just goofy because obviously you were doing something to trigger an auto ban. If I were you, I'd admit it, hope you get the suspension, and (if you get the accounts back, which you should), reduce your botting time to ~3 hours per day max.
It depends on what you're doing while botting. For example, if you're actually playing but you're using a combat rotation bot like Tyrael, your chances of getting banned are drastically reduced. This is because your character's movement is natural... and you are playing, not the bot. If you're doing something automated like GatherBuddy or dungeon farming, it's not hard for the bot to get stuck/do something stupid and raise flags. You can play your character all day using Tyrael and likely not have an issue, but if you're farming the same zone for 10+ hours, it raises suspicions. In short, limit gathering to a couple hours per day if that's what you want to do (and you want to get a bit more life out of the account).
As I have shared before, Blizzard seems to be focusing server side on gather bots, ran by single machine and single IP, I have already been autobanned 2x times on 3-7 GB2 accounts at a time, without touching my play, shuffle, PP accounts at all. The only coincidence is, that the most GB2 accounts were running 2-4 at a time, on single machine under same IP. So this makes enough reasons for me, and now I do it on shifts only, when 1 account is resting, another taking the gather shift, no matter server or faction. They have pushed us already to reduce the daily gather time to 4-5 hours already, so its pretty enough time in the 24hours for few more bots.
