Alright, so I love HB. I really do. However up until now I've only used it to level while I was at work, so I can play by hand when I get home. However I just lost my job, and need to pay bills while finding another. So I came to try goldselling. And bang me over a rock sideways, I can't seem to make more than 400g an hour. I see people over here like, "Eh yo I earned 5k in an hour yo!" How the good glorious ***** is that possible? Help a sister out with some tips please. Profiles, plugins, whatever I don't care, I'm just riding the struggle bus here.
i always recommend EchoTiger's profiles. his Botanica farm gets me 945GPH with selling everything to the vendor on a level 90 iwth 4/4 28 slot bags
Hello!! First of all there isnt a magic way to get gold. with that said i will give you a few advice to get you started. 1 research YOUR server (check ah price/stock history/demands) 2 check what YOU got (toons/professions) 3 check whats moste easy for YOU to get/farm 4 farm smart example: On your realm battle pets sell well. farm em... or .. On your realm transmog are a big thingy farm it... etc etc etc
Okay I will try to give you some adivce since I know a little how to decide what to farm due to hand-farming while wotlk the first thing I do is: srsly get an AH addon ^^ saves so much time (I use actioneer+Auctionator) 2nd search the AH for farmable items and their prices. (since I cant make any profiles, I need to rely on those which are made by others. And that decides as well what I am ABLE to farm :x) 3rd check the profiles farm/hour and calculate the profit/hour (for example: profile XYZ farms 200 Tea nodes/hour... ~ 3 each pickup -> 200*3=600/20=30 Stacks * X Gold/stack = gold/hour) ps. Most of the time people write their farm/time in the profiles thread, so you can use that as a reference. 4th check if it is worth to farm it by competition AND demand 4.1 I recently found a Site which I really dont know if its accurate but it seems to be pretty good "wowuction.com", I use it to look if the demand of the item is worth the farming (for example 50%+ demand will sell pretty fast, while things with 10% or so arent worth farming a lot since they wont be sold that fast...) 5th dont overfarm if its your main acc and try to sell a few items via chat like I do so you wont have that many auctions. 6th profit Sorry for my bad english^^ have fun
control as many markets as possible. also take what people say with a grain of salt. like, i make 5k an hour, even more actually... but i have 10 bots.
Thanks you guys, I really do appreciate the tips. I was always horrid at the auction house, and my server is probably the worst to sell gold on since it is one of the biggest most populated servers. Since that is the case, how should I go about choosing a server to sell on? Is it feasible to sell on a low to mid pop server? And finally... where? Where do I sell? The only place I know of that is... um... legit I suppose is playerauctions. People always recommend to sell to other people, but I'm just starting, and I don't even talk to people on a normal basis.
my suggestion is to spend your time doing other things, such as getting an real job, or trying to make money other ways. the risk you take gold selling for a beginner can get your accounts banned quickly. most people who do this run a lot of accounts, some accounts just to spam and find people. not only do you risk accounts, but you run the risk of people screwing you on payments or blackmailing you. thats all on top of the fact to make this pay off, its going to be a 24/7 job for you, and the pay per hour will probably not be what a minimum wage job would be. really you would probably be better off buying things at thrift shops and reselling on e-bay. not trying to discourage you, but sometimes people go "im going to sell gold / accounts and im gong to make soo much money playing a game i love" when in reality things dont work out like that. on top of it all you run the risk of turning your past time the way you used to relax into a job. they're 2 different worlds and once that magic is gone its gone. wow hasn't been fun for me in years, now is a job and it needs that respect and seriousness or nothing gets done.
botting can be pretty profitable if done right. problem is - no one will share all the pro tips, how to farm, where to farm, what to farm, how to dodge bans etc. since it'd just create more competition
Ok this Sir is the best post i have read in past few months. Its so da.mn acurate. I will just add this, botting is only for people that really knows what they are doing. Botted money is like an extra money to your day-job-salary and not a reliable monthly income. And lastly for me personally botting a game and making money of it isnt sitting by PC monitoring toons and spending more time doing that and earning less then in a burger-flipping job.
Get 5 Battle Chest. Level them to level 15 by whatever means. (druids work good for this) RAF the 5 accounts together. Make one a "Tank", one a "Healer" the other 3 "DPS". Put them in a party and run DungeonBuddy. 26 hrs later you have 5 level 85 druids. Put the mop trial on them, get them the 372 vendor gear from Dawn's Blossom. Put them back in DB for a few hrs to farm some MOP blues in the first 2 MOP dungeons. Then buy a few pcs of gear off the AH. Get the toons to a 390-400 Ilvl. Then solo LK dungeons. 300-600 gph in vendoring alone. Add in tailoring and enchanting shuffle to get 1200-1500 gph per acct. (5 accounts times 600 gph = 72k per 24 hrs = $36 per 24 hrs)
$36 Per 24hr. I'm not sure of any job that pays less than $1.5 per hr. But I guess that was your point
Trade nudes for gold lol Really right now is not the best time to start farming to sell and make gold. What you need to do right now is lvl a bunch of alts on different servers, and have ONE out of the TWO professions be Alchy. Then for the second profession get mining, JC, Enchanting, Tailoring, herbing, basically 1 of every profession. Like my account 1. Warrior lvl 90 Blacksmith/ Transmute spec 2. Hunter lvl 90 LW/ Transmute spec 3. Shaman lvl 90 JC/ Flask spec 4. Monk lvl 90 JC/ Transmute spec 5. Druid lvl 90 Herb/ Transmute spec 6. DK lvl 90 JC/ Potion spec 7. Mage lvl 90 Tailor/ Transmute spec 8. Rogue lvl 90 Miner/ Transmute spec 9. Pally lvl 90 Enchanter/ Transmute spec 10. Priest lvl 90 Skinner/ Transmute spec 11. Lock lvl 90 Tailor/ Transmute spec Now what this does is a few things. 1. You have your tailoring and your CDs that turn into epic crafted gear that sell for a lot AT THE START OF A NEW XPAC OR NEW TIER 2. Same thing with the Leather Worker, CDs that turn into epic crafted gear that sell for a lot AT THE START OF A NEW XPAC OR NEW TIER 3. Again same thing with the Blacksmith, CDs that turn into epic crafted gear that sell for a lot AT THE START OF A NEW XPAC OR NEW TIER 4. Now with JC depending on your server you can make some good gold any time during the xpack, but you make the most AT THE START OF A NEW XPAC OR NEW TIER The more JC's you have the faster you can learn all the cuts as well as have other CDs for the bread and butter...Transmuting 5. The gathering professions is like the gas for your car. Its what help fuels the last bit to make the MOST GOLD from professions. This is for Mining and Herbing. 6. This is your bread and butter, this is where you can make BANK...but thats ONLY AT THE START OF A NEW XPAC OR NEW TIER since prices sky rocket at the start of every profession. This is where Alchy falls into place. Transmuting is where the best BANG you are gonna get for gold making. Your Mining helps you get ore to xmute bars that sell for a ton of money. Your Mining also helps you fuel your JC witch in turn, all the annoying green gems (uncommon) or blue (rare) you get from prospecting, can not only be cut into high price gems, but can also be transmuted into META gems. Once again they sell for the most at the start of the xpac and tier release, BUT they sell for good gold though out the entire xpack as well. If thats not enough from just ONE profession (alchy) doing all that for you, there's ALSO the ability to make flask and potions for pre-potting. Sure they might sell 50g or more per flask but if you spend a few hours a day farming herbs, you flip 100% profit. IE You farm all the mats to make the flask. More if you have a flask master, or same things with potting. So with WoD around the corner, (not much longer now they are doing raid testing finally) your best chance is to start lvling up them alts and get them maxed professions. I don't make gold to sell, I just get 5 alt banks to gold cap then stop. Thats more than enough gold to buy what ever you want for all your toons, let it be max flying for them all, buying mounts, BMAH, and such. You can even make more if you do what Botanist said to do with 5 accounts and RAF them all at the same time. 5 accounts with 55 toons per account is 275 toons with the ability to transmute. So if you made 1k per day on every toon that sells transmutes thats 275k per day lol thats 11,458.3333333333 per hour.....Yo lol could not help my self with the Yo part. If you keep it small like what I do with 11 toons only, I make 5k per day on all the toons (takes about 3 hours a day to do) thats 55k per day and that 18k per hour since I only do that 3 hours a day.
seriously great advice here CodenameG...I cant believe it but I have a friend that goes to garage sales over the weekend and buys cheap crap and posts it on ebay and kijiji and makes a pile of cash from that. Its unreal what people will buy
I'm not sure there's any job that requires you to work 24/7 either. Truth is, when you get your bots up and running correctly you shouldn't even have to monitor them (depending on the botbase of course).
Agreed when you bot to make gold you're scared most of the time and having no fun the only time you have fun is when you make either alot of gold or sell it that's what's it about. It's not as easy as most people think it's alot of work running 5-20 accounts especially when you get banned often if you do not then it's alot more relaxed. Just apply for jobs like crazy because if you're new to the game of making a living from botting you might be suprised how hard it is.
I can attest to the difficulty. As a teenager I tried...not selling gold but powerlevelling...and its not easy and you really have to work it all day every day. Not something I really enjoyed, there was never any time to go out and do anything. I just bot to supply my characters and so I can do the things I NEED to do, then when I'm done and able to actually play everythings ready to go. Note that a lot of those reported gphs are dependent on realm, class, cr, and most include auctioning as well. I can run on dungeon on a rogue and it'll take a min or so longer than my hunter, and if I don't auction mats I get maybe 450 gph...with tailoring and enchanting along with auctioning its more like 1kgph...this is 1 account too.
I write custom profiles, because I was in your situation. "Oh I want to sell gold". I learned to write my own shit, then realized to make any real money selling gold requires crazy capital, not only in money, but in time, research, and writing profiles. Then if HB ever goes down you have no job. Every tuesday your income stops. Every expansion, your income is gone. Now don't get me wrong. I've been in teamspeak with someone and they made $16,000 in about 15 minutes with all the gold they had farmed that week. (Over 100+ account with custom botbases to run a 25 man SoO and sell the BoEs. I mean heroics.) Now a week later, all his accounts got banned. Not only does he have to pay another $1500+ for accounts, he has to level them, etc. You're better off using HB to level for you, and going out to get a real job. Take this from someone who tried, and who had a lot more connections than you. Oh, you want the secret? If there is one thing you take from this, here it is. Profiles, combat routines, whatever. You can get those. But secrets aren't cheap, and people won't part with them if they don't know you. Secrets in this business are how people make their living, and if they gave them away, well...they'd be poor in a week.
You're obviously not awake monitoring 24 hours a day. If botting 24/7: $36 x 30 days = $1080/month Working for min wage 40 hours a week: $8.5 x 40 hours = $340/week x 4 weeks = $1360/month - $313 (average %23 taxes) = $1047/month
