But if they had changed anything to the anti-cheat, wouldn't we have to agree to a new TOS/EULA?

TOS/EULA vs your local laws ? Yeh, TOS is totally worthless and holds no ground. Several court cases about it.
Doubt trion is breaking the law by scanning outside client memory.

No, not necessarily. If their detection scheme remains virtually the same, there's nothing more you would need to agree to. The TOS already states that they may scan your memory during game play. If that fundamentally stays the same, no update would be needed.

If i am not mistaken blizzard lost a court case on having the right to scan any thing out side their games exe so if that it true then no matter what they cant change how the scan works out side of the wow exe

It all depends on the country you're in. They could change it differently based on your location.

I agree that a lack of information/misinformation/clarification will inevitably cause fighting and flame wars. Often there is initial confusion when events like this happen, and this is the cause of misinformation from the top level.
When the normal support team works the forums during these events, they do the best they can with the information they have. They should revise their answers when new information becomes available for future posts.

While I am all for expression and voicing your opinion, I don't like to see discussions turn into fights.
Keep things civil or as always, I will close this thread.

I would also like to point out that if there is a pressing issue and only basic/vague answers are given, there is most likely a reason.
Keep in mind the current Legal situation.

      For now, things are riskier.
Don't bot on something you aren't willing to lose.

Once again, another contradictory message between 2 moderators. One says the bot isn't detected, one says to be careful, implying they don't know. This isn't an attack on you Bambam, nor am I trying to be argumentative, but you mods really need to get your answers in line. This happens far too often on these threads and all you're doing is re-affirming people's lack of trust that seems pretty well deserved at this point.

Krillin, you won't get an answer from a mod concerning whether blizzard can see it or not.

I, however, am curious if the tripwire has been de-activated for the time being, or if another event occurs, if the trip wire will kick in again?

That seems like a very fair question to ask.

No idea, but without an update to HB its more likely that the tripwire has been deactivated and the remaining (if any) security measures are still in place.

Not sure how some of you are able to autonomously breathe.

Anyhow, the same rules apply as always. If you aren't willing to lose it, don't bot on it. If you bot on your main, you're an idiot anyhow. I've been here long enough to know that Tony is pretty much a vegetable and that the HB team is evasive with questions at best.

IF YOU WANT TO STAY SAFE DON'T BOT.

ryftobuddy i agree and the question i asked was leaning more toward the tripwire and or wire's. Also to my understanding and yes i understand stopping and help but. i was always told if you botted for even 10 seconds blizzard can go back any time they wish and banned you. with that said i have read in their rules you can banned for anything for any reason just botting does not help your case of course

I'm not sure that it is a valid question, but it depends how the tripwire system is operating. If Warden has received a substantial update the current tripwire may not be adequate to identify changes within Warden insofar as they relate to the newer functionality, whatever that may be. So it's possible that HB could be undetected at this point in time, but Blizzard may only have to flip a switch further down the line to begin detecting HB users, and this would not necessarily be something picked up by the tripwire.

The reason I feel this is the case is because if the devs thought there was an imminent threat they simply would not have re-enabled auth, so they must think it is safe to a degree but are also aware that until they have reversed every line of new Warden code there is the possibility that Blizzard only have to make a minor alteration for the detection status to change. In other words, continuing to bot is going to be like playing Russian Roulette with your account, do you hit the loaded chamber before the devs can update HB to remove the threat entirely.

Um, you should probably talk to someone about announcing that, Tony.
The impression the last announcement gave was "not sure if detected, give us 30 days to properly find out".
If HB is definitely not detected, then whats the 'heightened risk'?

Further information regarding Tripwire status has not been shared with me and I have not asked about it.

The heightened risk is that there was a change to Warden.

Buddy community consists of vegetable moderators like Tony... Or Bam that asks users for wow accounts to continue development (hey bam, wanna delete this one aswell or has enough time passed?)

Wouldn't suprise me if management thinks he shouldnt have said it and all of our conversations about it gets deleted.
      Happens quite regularly.

If you read the announcement again, one could imply that the update was not one of the usual(hence the 3y remark) which has been able to be checked in hours, if even that. and you guys have no idea wtf is going on.
If you did, you would clear up the confusion and communicate with your customer base, which would be the logical thing todo. Ergo you cant, cause you dont know yourself.
Making the announcement looks to be purely from a business point of view where you push away any responseability from yourself as a company.
And putting it on us clueless customers with no way of making an informed decision.
Quite convenient business practices the Buddy team employs regularly. Actually amazed how often you get away with it.

      Worth reposting from tom:

So it's possible that HB could be undetected at this point in time, but Blizzard may only have to flip a switch further down the line to begin detecting HB users, and this would not necessarily be something picked up by the tripwire.

Actually, the week after I asked, I bought a 5 man team and assisted with many Dungeonbuddy bugfixes. I still have them, but they are currently inactive because I am not currently developing something.
Though to answer your question, I guess enough time has passed.

I've done enough to assist derailing this thread.

You will get answers when they are announced.
