As the Topic says, i got a 72h suspension but dont really know why. (ofc i got banned because of botting, but i dont know why i got detected so fast) 1)Were you using Honorbuddy, Gatherbuddy or both on the account? Gatherbuddy 2)Which version (and Beta or Release)?: Newest/Release 3)If so, when was the last time?: 2014-07-31 ~10am - 9pm 4)What PROFILE were you using?: Randombuddy 5)What combat class were you using? if None Just put Default then the Classname: Default / GuardianDruid 6)What plugins are you using?: Randombuddy 7)How many hours per day did you bot for?: ~12 (+-2) 8)What honest percentage of time did you supervise your bot? 50%, WoW Windows are left to my Mainwow so i can see when the Bot stucks or something like that 9)How many auctions per day did you have?: 150-300 per Account / 4 Accounts, 2 of them got banned (but the banned account dont posted anything to the AH) 10)Did you Use Any Other Bots, Hacks, or Mods? tMorph, nothing more 11)Was your account involved in gold selling? not yet 12)EU or US realm? EU 13)Is the banned account a Scroll of Resurrection or an actual paid account? actual paid account. Maybe someone can help me, i dont know if i just had bad luck or i did a big mistake; i bot ~12h per day with my 3 gather accounts, 2 of them got banned today. It was the first day gathering, i used to farm cloth in naxx before but started yesterday to level herb/mining 1-600 with professionbuddy and today i farmed with gatherbuddy and the the randombuddy profiles in the jade forest. Should i make breaks in the ~12time bot period ? i start the bot when i wake up in the morning between 9am and 11am und stop it ~12hours later. i would be very thankful for any suggestions what i can do better to avoid getting a permbann when my 72h suspension ends. EDIT: one more question, in the email from blizzard they say "as account owner i'm responsible for everything regarding to this account' and "we will close the account next time" will they close all WoW licenses / the BattlenetAccount or only the license which got suspended? because i never heard of battlenet account bans.. kind regards ilonie
Did the suspension email cite use of third party programs or abuse of the economy? That's probably the biggest piece of info that will help you determine why you got slapped with a suspension. 12 hours is a bit too long, even with Randombuddy. I'm assuming the auctions you posted were ore/herbs that you farmed? That can also be a huge flag on Blizz's side. Or perhaps you raised a flag by having multiple toons farming at the same time. Unfortunately you did quite a few things "wrong" that would cause someone to get banned... you're incredibly lucky to just have a suspension. I'll go out on a limb and say it was a manual suspension by a GM, as you didn't trigger the typical overfarming permaban that you'll see on the forums here. Naturally I could be wrong and this is just pure speculation.
They talked about third party programs, not abuse of the economy. Would 6hour bot / 2hour break / 6hour bot be better ? Yes the auctions were ore/Herbs but it was the first time i posted ore/herbs in the ah and only 150auctions.
better...yes. ideal....NO. imo. I've been botting since glider days. I've been banned on numerous accounts, numerous reasons, some were my own fault, some were random, some were shit luck. Botting for 12 or even just 6 straight hours (especially if your afk) imo is too long. not to mention following the same pattern of how often you bot...asks for trouble as well. if they monitor your play time and what you do, they will catch on if say 3 days a week you play for 6 hours, then offline for 2 then back on for 6. Change it up, EVERY time you bot. Never bot for the same period of time, same place, ect each session. If today you bot for 6 hours and rest for 2 hours then again for 6 hours. Tomorrow bot for 4 hours rest an hour bot for 5-6 hours, the next day bot for 2 hours rest 3 hours, bot for an hour ect. changing up your botting times is another way of prolonging them catching that ass lol. I never bot more then 3 hours, and since my last couple bans, i rarely afk while botting. Typically bot on one screen, watch movies, browse the web, work on projects ect. on the other screen. afk botting imo is just asking for a ban...but it's all personal opinion and preference really. Also i do NOT use any profiles for ANYTHING that are posted on here. No matter how great they are, yes i may download them and run them on a test account to see how well they work out, or to learn from them for my own profiles ect. The only profiles off here that i actually use myself regularly are like say milling/disenchanting ect. no gathering, question, ect profiles that are public. Using public profiles is more apt to get you banned then learning to create your own and never release it to anyone but yourself. /shrug
Thank you very much for this. Do you think it makes sense to stop botting with Char after a few hours and switch instantly to another char on another Battlenet Account? or would that be the same as botting with one Char for all the time ? Dunno if they check the IP or only the Battlenet Accounts e.g. Bnetacc1 2h => Bnetacc2 3h => Bnetacc3 1h => Bnetacc4 => 3h ... =>Bnetacc1 ofc with random botperiods as u said
Bingo! That's the way gather botting nowadays survives. But with some "small" tweaks, called randomized "gameplay", read randomized "botplay" After every gather session, just load a dungeonbuddy for 30-60min and queue for LFR, meanwhile you can load your 2nd gather bot and start his shift etc, You would be surprised how successful this could be! My record is running a PP profile for almost a month on this scheme, 24/7 - 2H PP, 30m LFR, 2H rest, then repeat, had more than 50% uptime on the PP profile for tons of weeks!
Also something else to add to this that i forgot to put in my previous post...This is solely for trying to overthrow a ban in the event you get nailed...If you have an authenticator on the bot account...REMOVE IT, then install a ***, and ONLY bot on ***s. Therefore the ip address linked to your bot, is NOT the same ip address linked to your actual playing time. So you get hit with a ban, you simple ticket it and say hey, i think my account was compromised because i have no idea what you're talking about. They will investigate it, see that your ip address is not even remotely close to the ip you were botting on, and be more apt to unban you. ***'s are an absolute MUST for botting imo. But again, that's all personal preference!
