It's not hard to monitor what content this forum holds, but does anyone think they might have a secret agent working his way 'up the ranks' here at all. *shifty eyes* /tinfoil hat securely on

I think Honorbuddy is actually run by blizzard in order to make more profits for their game...

I can only assume that there are people monitoring the forum, makes sense for Blizzard to keep their eyes peeled.

Because most of us don't post our character names, realms and botting schedules? What are they going to do? Plant a GM at all 1000000001 profile locations 24/7 to ban people botting or just walking by.

Thats something thats also bothering me.
For sure they look whats up in this forum, but why aren't they much more successful in banning bots?

I'm no programmer but I'm working with a software development team, and I think it would be possible to look after certain characteristics what makes a bot.
For example I would have a look at kicks 1-90 profile write down every quest that it does and this would be the first indicator. People that have only done exactly these quests will be flagged.
Then I would monitor these players. While farming, do they exactly pass a spot multiple times? (hotspots) So if a player passes the exact same spot x times in a hour his "is it a bot" rating will rise.
Does it spam keys 43932499times in 1 second? And so on, there could be a lot of charateristics.
Then just go if 5 out of 10 characteristics are true -> ban

      Agreed.

Please also read how Blizzard tried to sue Bossland (aka HB) in Germany and lost their ass. The German court system told Blizzard to take a hike. As I recall Blizzard had a small win in that HB couldn't be sold in Germany. Bossland filed a counter suit for lost revenue from German players and won 600K Euro (approximately $1m USD). German players were forced into using alternative solutions.

I went from 1 account to 5 monthly subscription accounts because of HB. Blizzard should be thanking HB for my increased subscriptions/revenue.

      The following botters are targetted:

~ Herb/Ore gathering.....most of these mats end up on the AH and is considered abuse of the economy
      ~ Excessive dungeon farming....more than 8 hours a day
      ~ Gold sellers
~ Extended game play...who can play for 36 to 48 hours non stop?

They are only posturing that they dislike botters by trying to sue these companies. It's nothing but a money grab. They know that even if they did take out places like HB, it would just go more underground. There's no stopping the Chinese Mafia farmers, so they simply decide to get their money's worth from all their lawyers by putting them to work, with the security in mind knowing that botting will continue.

One day, thats my dream, i will go to blizzcon (livin in germany), hoping to get into a small talk or something with some of the blizzard staff. Talking to them abt their great game and shit and just as a sidenote telling that in the moment i am talking to them, i have 10 bots at home etc. Just curious what they would act like when someone would tell them straight to the face that they bot and enjoy it. Sadly i wont ever be able to make that dream come true.

You do understand they are professionals getting paid for their work, have a team behind them taking care of botters and just don't care about this small little botter next to them trying to sell gold to chinese, while they have a job with health care and pension.
