In the past, when Blizzard has been totally inundated with new subscribers they have a history of waiting for a short time for subscriptions to peak then doing a huge ban wave.

i guess you will NEVER KNOW "slow jazz hands "

none the less i been botting since beginning of 2012 and have not yet had an issue. i gone 8 hrs a day for weeks with out problems.... i started a diary type thing to show ppl my progress but shortly stoped b.c ppl were bitching how i never stuck to one thing, and that would get me no wheres in the game. only reason i jumped around alot was to make it look like i was a ADD kid that had no clue what he was doing which in my opinion helped greatly on not being noticed.i also NEVER afk bot dungs or raids. i am always at the comp for those and if i do leave for anything like bathroom or such i turn off bot and just say afk one sec... not like they cared it was LFR XD. i even had GMs look into my account when i was having issues with my mail box bugging out and they helped me out. so i guess its all on the luck on the draw

Hmm i think you know they could like up plug in more switches because bandwidth isn't the issue anyway.

I would say with 99% certainty that they were receiving a ddos attack.

At any given time almost any popular site is receiving some kind of attack whether it be from competition or trolls. Like competitors of HB are probably trying to Ddos the auth servers or the forums to push people onto their platform.
However bandwidth isn't the issue and many of the launch problems are stabilizing. There is only so much hardware can do within the laws of physics and it takes time for software to catch up in optimization. I would say blizzard will probably just use whatever software technologies they've been developing to help offload the servers. It would be a little insane to go up 4-5 million users issue a huge banwave to "offload the servers" hue...I don't see them adding much in hardware either as after the initial hype dies down it would be a wasted investment.

Well when you have servers full to the max you dont need to use a lot of attacks as the servers are just coping as it is. Of course it was a DDOS best time to do it.
