So i have a 72hr suspention, tried to appeal and got this response.. Since when could Blizz do this?!
Aha, time for the daily "blizzard scans ram" post. It's always been in the ToS that you read fully and accept when you first login. However, when I last checked in on the situation, no one has found any evidence that WoW actually does scan outside its own process. The conclusion is that it's simply too risky in terms of lawsuits etc. for Blizz to do this. Your 72h ban is almost incontrovertibly due to player reports.
Because no-one skips the ToS ahaha and it would of been, Dungeon buddy is no way stable enough to run 100% AFK yet
Well i've been caught Botting & using Hacks (flying around BGs with the flying is always fun) but yeah not too fussed, 72hr ban on Final warning main account >.< Fuck Blizz
I've done 4 chars over the christmas period up to 90 running constantly, do not use dungeon buddy if your going to leave the bot on 24/7 tanks will see you following them and then shift themselves to another location to watch you follow them or randomly runs one way, turns back, runs the other way turns back and runs into a wall, luckily for me I was at the computer some times I was called a bot and then just gave em a heap of trolling abuse and pretended I was the worlds worst player.
Assuming they just do a scan of the current process running, did you change the name of HB? I always rename the EXE to "Fraps.exe" so when scanning processes it appears a valid third party program is running. I have no proof this does anything, i am just a bit paranoid lol
can programms without admin rights even scan other then thier own ram ? i doubt that, since there is no uac notification on vista/7/8 -> i think wow can just scan its own memory. hb has i.e. a uac notification everytime on startup
they got sued and lost in the US several years ago for scanning... so it has been done before. Dont know if laws have changed and or they would push it in other countrys....
I use a flash drive to store my bot stuff so its not in the computer while I am not playing the bot. I have encryption on the usb drive, so go ahead and try blizz.
they cant and they dont. anyone who says otherwise doesnt know a thing of laws or rights. edit// while they may say they did scan your shit, they didnt. just throw it back in their face ask to see a copy of the warrant signed by a judge to search your property. EULA means nothing, you cant sign your rights away, learn some consumer law.
Macedawg, I know when you sign or acknowledge the TOS then you are held by LAW to the terms of the TOS. It is a legal binding contract pretty much in any country.
yeah thats true. however as i said. you CAN NOT, sign your rights away. your right to privacy is not waived by you agreeing to the EULA. it does not give them the right to freely look around your computer as it is an invasion of your privacy. as has been stated. they tried it, they got sued, they got spanked. if they are saying they have invaded your privacy. contact your lawyer, youre sitting on a gold mine. edit// just in addition to what i have said. the REASON why they have these statements in their EULA and send out emails saying 'this is how we caught you' because it acts as a deterrent to prevent people botting. this thread is a clear example. to people who are un-educated / un-aware they read it and are like 'oh shit nope i broke the rules, better not bot again' and trust me, it WORKS on a LOT of people.
this doesnt do anything, when the process is attached to the RAM page it is in that process pipe, it may read info at your directory but the process is in the memory
Its only legally binding where its legal for them to perform such acts. Blizzard has to abide by the countries laws to provide a service and product in that country, hence why Australia was screwed over with watered down versions of what could have been 18+ games now, in the past. Ie. In Australia they are not allowed to do those types of scans and as such that part is actually waived for our ToS and EULA even though its still written there. In other countries where your right to privacy is not guaranteed that clause then becomes binding. And when i say binding i dont mean criminal prosecution or anything, they can just ban the account.
