My sole suggestion for this routine: Make the "auto AoE" work so it only enables Barrage when there are 2 or more targets, same for Explosive Trap, and starts using Multishot to apply Serpent Sting if possible (otherwise use Arcane Shot to apply Serpent Sting) and use Multishot to Focusdump if there are 3 or more targets. Right now the AoE seems a bit shitty and swapping to the "Barrage Profile" isn't cutting it.
there are other hunter routines doing more damage than this by a fair bit so it is possible. and i want to not be getting smashed by hunters dpsing without a bot with the same ilvl. at 677 i should be on alot more than 29-30K when other hunters are up at 33-34K. i payed and can make the request
What I don't get is that I'm meeting my Simulated DPS (30600) through this routine (take maybe 500-600 off), while you're obviously not doing that (using the same routine). Therefore your spec either completely wrong, or you've not followed my suggested settings. I'm not trying to deprive you of your right to post your feedback. I'd just like that you post your spec and settings so we could dissect why you're getting such low DPS with so high ilvl.
my spec changes every fight as the mythic boss requires. and simdps is not really a good gauge as most can pull above there simcraft dps levels. i have tryed your settings that you posted a few pages back and did not find it to be an improvement. i've spent endless amounts of time tweaking the settings. like i said with other routines i pull higher dps with default settings.. but i much prefer tuanhas work 99% of the time, he just seems to be ignoring the hunter class and focusing on monk atm.
Please show me a Single Target encounter where you are beating your Simulated Patchwerk DPS. I believe you're talking out of your ass here, I'm sorry.
I never said i was beating my simdps i said other people are which is what i meant by it is very possible to out dps simcraft.,This is mythic butcher. its as tank and spank as it gets.
As we can see, the hunter with -1 lvl from you, has almost 1% more activity, therefore the more dmg/dps. The hunter way above you is using a pet (as we can see in the log), so therefore not the same spec as you and the other guy (lonewolf). He's obviously using Focusing Shot + Pet, managing it well and therefore has higher dps. Focusing Shot can be used on every fight unless you feel that you cannot manage it. It will always result in higher dps unless you're not good at predicting movement.
As a hunter mobility is the one thing you have over other classes, as such i am always assigned to roles withing fights that require high movement. so the routine should be updated to better work with lone wolf, and it can be done as i have said i get greater numbers with other routines at the moment with lone wolf, which is a clear indication that it is not at 100%
I'm not sure why you see an absolute need to go Lone Wolf. Even in a role like Flamethrower on Bracken, you can still use Focusing Shot with ease if you do some planning and you're aware of the boss' cooldowns. Though I can agree to some extent, the Lone Wolf rotation could be better, though I'm having a really hard time testing it outside of raids due to there not being any lone target dummies.. EDIT: Now that I think about it, Explosive Trap is no longer part of our ST rotation, so I'm going to do some testing tonight. By hand and with routines: TuanHA & YRB2.
because there is only one fight in HM that focusing shot does more damage. and when i say that i mean mythic not heroic or normal. the utility a hunter brings to a raid in mythic is super high super mobile damage. focusing shot severely limits the mobility for no dps gain and often a dps loss on almost all fights. I love tuanhas work and use all his profiles on all my alts, I WANT to be able to use this instead of a different CR. but focusing shot is not viable on most fights.
So, I performed a small test on a single target dummy. Fights are ~3:58 minutes long. First part of this log is with Focusing Shot, second part (after the stop and then start again) is with Lone Wolf. Both specs use AMoC and TotH. Barrage is specced but is not used during this test. Both parts have the same Buff (Multistrike). Both parts start with the same amount of cooldowns. Focusing Shot - 26.0k DPS (6.17M Damage Done) Lone Wolf - 23.8k DPS (5.65M Damage Done) The ~2k dps loss seems about right. Simulation gives very, very close numbers when simulating with the above criteria. I did notice that a lot of Black Arrows were being delayed when using Focusing Shot though. Looking a bit closer at the results - I can't figure out why Serpent Sting has so low damage has Lone Wolf. I didn't pay much attention to its rotation. Strange. I hope the log will provide some help for TuanHA
Ummmm that Hunter thats way above you is +8 ilvl, therefore negating almost this entire discussion....unless I'm like high and can't read straight across
ehh you're right i didn't realize this was while i was at 674, im higher now. however numbers are still the same. other two out dps me every time.
Sooooo I guess we're all going back to BM then like at the end of MoP? *Tuanha have you taken a look at the BM rotation in a while just to make sure that we're optimized?
^^This You'd be surprised how many people bot this game.. I know for a fact I have 3 others in my raid team because they're always sick or busy when the bot is down on raid nights. The same people... and one is our off tank Luckily I still know how to play with buttons.
Hi guys, hi Nopejpg, Thank for the log. The hunter Lone Wolf is a Passive ability and there's nothing need to change in rotation as far as I know. I'll analyze the log but it seem that Blizzard mechanic (you get less dps on Lone Wolf talent?)
Hey, nice profile. But why do you chose incendiary ammo in your mt profile? Do you change your talents for MT Boss fights? Why you dont use Glaive Toss for single target, should be more effective, or?
