I'm guessing he got overwhelmed with all the requests, like Ex did with Magitek. Being the author of a popular routine inevitably becomes a second job, except you don't get paid.
I don't think Ichiba ever applied for one (I could be wrong though). He could have just burnt out. Development is tiresome (people always want more, for free) and it sucks up all your free time. I haven't been able to play FFXIV for a few months now because all of my free time (which isn't a lot lately) is spent developing (so basically I'm paying a sub fee on FFXIV to develop for the Buddy team lol). There's a reason I recently changed my avatar to my current one lol. So if Ichiba is taking a break I can understand, especially since there are other options now (when he started refreshing Magitek there was nothing else other than Kupo, which is why a lot of us started making these CRs out of necessity). Hope all is well, where ever you are Ichiba.
I was sure he had a developer title, oh well. I hope he comes back someday. Really liking his routines with the options + aoe support.
i think thats why there are class specific ones in honorbuddy * personally i would pay for a dragoon specific that i know would be updated regularly
Yep, HB has paid class routines now. I also wouldn't mind paying for a well maintained and updated routine, but I'm unsure if there's a large enough combat routine userbase for RB to warrant it.
For the population of the ff servers more people bot then you realize. When Endus stated he had over 10,000 downloads on Ultima that is a small bit of how many people bot in ff 14. PS4 playerbase is dwindling it seems. My static coil raids from our FC use to run 4 time groups and about half used consoles but out of all 4 8 man teams we now only have 5 people on console. The bard that I sometimes play with uses his moves the exact time I do. That feels like he is also botting and more people bot then who will ever admit. If the routines was to move into a pay mode I guess i do not blame them. Ichiba responded to me one time saying he had over 300 mails within two days apologizing how long it took to respond to me. I pay developers to provide me private plugins sometimes so maybe I will on here as well.
SVN is down? Unable to connect to a repository at URL 'https://code.google.com/p/kupper' Server sent unexpected return value (405 Method Not Allowed) in response to OPTIONS request for 'https://code.google.com/p/kupper'
The problem, I think, is getting into developing a routine that works for every class well is a lot of work. If you see Honorbuddy, there are routines for each individual class developed by different people that specialize on a single class. Of course, that's due to Honorbuddy's bigger community.
I've been kind of busy lately so I haven't had a ton of time to work on anything. No, I never bothered to apply for the community developer group. I've added some stuff to the bard routine. I added support for an opening rotation and aligning blood for blood with barrage as people have suggested. I've tested it and it usually comes out to actually losing about 1% compared to the old normal rotation, but people wanted it and I already went through the trouble of making it, so I might as well leave it if people want to try it. Maybe ACT just doesn't parse it right. I'll probably add potion support for bard and ninja pretty soon.
Thank you for the update. With the ninja profile, i am having trouble manually using things when i want to. ie If i need to use limit break which is on my controllers bar, sometimes it just does not recognize it at all and i have to keep pressing the button until it recognizes it. Same with manually pressing potions at begining of rotation etc. Can this be changed at all? It's just annoying it won't let you use something when you need to. Keep up the good work.
Couldn't agree more, all in ones are good but they're never going be as optimized as per class routines, written by people who actually play the class the routine is intended for, as demonstrated with Kupper. This CR doesn't need the other classes, and I'd prefer other CRs to be just as specialised. Not only would this cut down on development time, but would also leave polished CRs without the need for updates until the game changes. Folk are always going to ask for functionality you just haven't thought of, regardless of if it's needed or not. Ichiba, keep this routine BRD/NIN only, and market it as such, save on your workload. You've already got a what is the goto routine for BRD/NIN, and it does a great job as is. Concentrate on that, let other developers think of the others.
I 100% agree to Sodimm! BRD/NIN works great, please concentrate on them and keep updates coming and forget the other classes. Think ppl would prefere a routine which is good in specific things than only decent in all things. Best regards!
Weird... I hacked in a quick Blood for Blood align for this routine for myself a while back and I parsed noticeably higher and have been running with it ever since.... Time to go back and do more testing.
Not sure if this was mentioned, but I noticed that when running ninja it does not seem like the CR is using mutilate when running fatebot. Perhaps I am doing something wrong here, but I have not changed any default settings. Thanks
There is an issue when a target has too many dots/debuffs active at one time and your dot does not apply due to the dot limit. Instead Kupper keeps trying to reapply the dot which means it just spams that.
For what it is worth, I'm in total agreement with cryquz and sodimm. This routine should stay strictly for NIN/BRD. I've been using it for quite some time now, and it is infinitely better than other routines.
