Are you embarrassed of botting?

Hey guys
I've been wanting to ask this question for a while now..
are you embarrassed of botting?

I only use the bot for CRs, and I raid with a very small group.
if i get banned, i would be in a very awkward situation, cuz they are very dependent on me.
and i don't think i can come up with a reasonable excuse.

what do you guys think?

 

No, but I would be embarrassed if I would play the game myself for 18 hours a day just to keep up with all the stuff into the game...

 

i wouldn't blame you. it takes too much effort to keep up with everything.
i just choose to not do anything but raiding cuz thats the only fun thing for me to do in the game

Nope, I know how to play my class manually if the bot were to have downtime.

 

I keep my mouth shut not for the sake of embarrassment but due to the sake of getting reported/banned.

If bliz said tomorrow "you know what we realise we should embrace third party tools just like we do addons" i'd be happy to say I bot.... just like everyone else I see around me that every now and then you notice that odd behaviour even though they maintain a strict "wish they would ban all these botters" stance, and you just agree and both keep on doing that slightly higher damage than you would have otherwise.

We are in the shadows because of policy not so much because of community as the few whinging on official forums are the minority, the majority are too lazy to care enough to post imo.

 

I tell RL friends that I bot and laugh about it. I don't care. Only don't tell others for obvious reasons.

 

The only thing that embarrasses me is when I'm playing naked and accidentally answer a Skype vcall while I'm still covered in peanut butter, Cheeto dust and breadcrumbs.

I do give a crap about getting caught. Literally only a handful of people know I bot. I know these people for more than 5 years...

 

I would be embarrassed if I were to play competitively in Arenas/RBG/Raids. In the other hand HceTiG0L hit right on the stop. Wasting all day playing a game is more embarrassing that anything else that I can think of.

Not embarrassed at all, i use it for everything. people make these profiles, cr's, plugins and what not so i don't have to be good anymore. I'm better.

I've been botting/hacking/cheating in games since I was a child. Why would I not take an advantage over others? Getting caught would be a bit embarrassing. Much like someone would catch you taking a huge dump in the woods. Everyone does it if they need to, and everyone is equally ashamed of needing to if they were caught doing it. But mainly I am way too lazy to play manually these days and the game has gotten so crazily competitive, there's no room for a lazy person in WoW anymore. I liked the atmosphere of vanilla more, where you did things because you thought they were fun to do, not because they had super e-peen rewards. When the game returns to such a state, I'll play manually again.

 

No, because I'm not a moron who needs to use it to raid.

I refuse to pick flowers/mine/farm for 8 hours, and level through 5 expansions, and botting is amazing for that. I mean, seriously, what loser is going to pick flowers for 8 hours manually ?

This forum has left me flabbergasted due to the apparent commonality of many people using it to raid more than AFK LFR because they're bad, I never thought this was a 'thing'. Sure, I could see a very small percentage using it for that, but never as many as it seems to be, and it appears to be a real enticing feature.

This also explains a few things I've experienced in raids before.

 

I thought like this too. Then someone mentioned lazy raider in one of my guild raids. Sure enough at least 4 people spoke up about botting in raids and more spoke of leveling alts with kicks profiles lol.

 

As it has been said before. It does not make you bad to not want to hit the same keys over and over in an encounter. It is more fun to focus on the mechanics and enjoy the time raiding with friends. Sounds like you take the game too seriously.
