Lots of Bans today -- Bot at your Own Risk

Today I like several others got banned for 6 months. I tried appealing it, talked to a GM on the account chat services thing, and then finally scheduled a callback with Blizzard support. Got a really cool guy who I talked to over the phone. I feigned ignorance as much as I could, but the guy, even for being as cool as he was, wouldn't let me skip out on being honest. He said verbatim, "Here's the deal man. There are consequences to cheating. I know you said you have no idea, but we literally can see the program on your computer. We can literally see it active while you played. We literally have it on record, with no possibility of making a mistake or confusing it for something else. It's there. We can see it. We can see the program. So my advice is to just take it and move on, and play again in 6 months. Like I said, I know this sounds harsh and I'm sure it's frustrating, but there is no doubt on our end. We are 100% certain you were using this program. If it makes you feel any better, normally it's a permanent ban but we opted for a 6 month ban instead."

So it looks like it's pretty cut and dry that Honorbuddy was detected. He wouldn't say it by name because it is "against their policy" but I just want to encourage everyone to take a break from it for a bit until the air clears. With so many bans going out today, it's clear there's a bit more to this than just coincidental player reports.

you dont need to tell botters bot at you own risk just that you got banned and we not we know our risk and honorbuddy is not detected its your own fault that you got banned if honorbuddy is detected i would be banned to and not only you so dont make excuses that honorbuddy is detected i bot when ever i want to just that you say better to bot in 6 months i wont do that some people really dont know what a detection means

 

Once again, if HB was detected there we be a LOT more bans than this.

If they said that, that means they are breaking the privacy any user have on the internet by scanning our active programs and they would be in risk of a lawsuit.

 

My ban says "Offense: Exploitation of game mechanics", I just use CR's.

 

I hope the GM just said that to scare ya, I wouldn't want to play wow if they actually can see what other programs I have on, that's invading my privacy to a big stretch.. None of their business..

 

i use cr's, and Kicks leveling profiles. and im not banned.

 

So if you, like casual geek botter do see ingame a botter, you will be 100% sure that he is botting, right?

Then if Blizzard Customer support representative (which paid job is to read and examine logs) do see the account records, he must be blind to not see that the account was botting.

Yes, he cannot prove it - but he do NOT needs to! And of course he would say, that he is 100% confident, because he actually is. And as much as possible confidence he demonstrate on yourself, the chances for you to call back again are lesser! Its just a social engineering!

 

people are getting banned alot i had this issue aswel 6 7 months ago the same goes for giwin we got banned alot togetter at the same time and now wow stopped banned me because i didnt touched wow for awhile and spended no money even when i touched questbotting on a trial account that got banned and now im just fine they wanna make more money befor the token comes out just safe you money and start botting when you can buy time cards for wow gold

The account i actually DO bot on, on a different computer with a different IP is still fine.. go figure.

 

ya ill go out on a limb and say most of these are comming from player reports but, the honest truth is no one knows. people start to speculate and then go from there.

i have been botting and have not changed my pattern at all or what i use. shit i think i own like 6 CR's lol and leveled 3 toons using kicks. not to mention i run this damn thing almost 40+ hours a week, seeing as i turn it on right when i login. i dunno its just another one of Blizzards ban phases

Yeah who knows, no telling really. It don't bother me too much, i've lost about 50 accounts over the years. Just weird they banned this one that only uses CR's and i look over my shoulder at another computer and see my botting account back there doing pet battles to level up and sell. That account was not online during the last tripwire.. /tinfoil

Been playing SWTOR and Eve lately, if i feel the need to play Wow i guess i can just turn another one on. Think i still have 10 or so accounts that i turned off when the gold price went to shit about a year ago.

No lawsuit, you agreed in the ToS that they can scan without notice.
Bot isn't detected but they can see it if they go into detail.

On topic, it's been a while with this ban rate going on. They have steadily grown up, and now it's fucking clear blizz's cock is bigger than any of us.

No matter what you do, they started on 24/7 hour dungeons, then they passed to 24/7 grinding, then they went into random dungeoning, then random grinding, then garrisonbotting, and now it seems CR in raids are getting people banned.

All comes to one thing: tokens. They want us gone, and we will be gone soon or at least I think so. Botting for profit anywhere but in fucking Uganda is dead. Of course, fanboys will always be here, and "hey I'am not banned I bot 1 hour a week, Hb is seiif".

Also, not criticizing directly, but most of us have already grown hair in our balls. "No banwave lol" could have served the first 100 times, but it is my opinion we deserve a little more than that.

 

How can we tell that Mario27 is a dude? He has no periods.

 

I welcome a ban on my main account. I put down way to much time into this fucking hamster wheel of a game.

I still play though, I do some missions every day. Getting a mythic item every two weeks. Doing the same raid over and over hoping for nothing because I'm BiS HC.
Why do I play? Tbh, no fucking idea. Scary.
