Alright, so I was online botting during Tripwire went off. (Used PrestoPet bot and singular and did pve petbattles 100% afk) End of logs: [01:11:21.577 N] Tripwire activated. Shutting down honorbuddy [01:11:21.592 N] Wow exited, Honorbuddy stopped! [01:11:21.592 Q] Bot stopping! Reason: Wow exited, Honorbuddy stopped! [01:11:21.592 N] Honorbuddy terminating in 20 seconds. [01:11:25.031 N] Tripwire Active, shutting down Honorbuddy! I understand that the HB safe mechanism hitted and shutted down things. And this is quote from this sites wiki: "Tripwire takes the Buddy Bot offline before the Anti-Cheat's new detection mechanism(s) gets a chance to run. However, when a new detection mechanism is activated, tens of thousands of game clients close immediately. This is information to the game owner, in and of itself. If you are using a relogger, your failure mode may be different, and the game owner will see constant attempts to reconnect if the relogger wasn't written to handle this situation." So what I have read my account is now flagged (since I was among the thousands of accounts going offline the moment blizz pushed the new detection). Now that HB is updated, is it "safe" to continue botting? By safe I mean the new detection doesn't see the bot now, right? (I do completely understand that player reports or some other crap can get you banned any day)
Im no expert, but why should it shut down the WoW client and log you off? thats to me a good way of seeing whos a bot or not during a tripwire event, I monitor mine 100% of the time and can easily take over dps controlls or whatever and save myself the accusation of being a bot if I'm in a group. Just asking
How come this guy is the only one saying there was a tripwire? :S Id have thought the forums would be flooded with posts if EU had a tripwire event?
Nobody can tell you for sure that it's safe or that it isn't safe. My recommendation would be to wait a bit and wait for the probably inevitable EU bans. The reason why US got hit first is because the Token comes out there first, we come after that so bans are probably 1-2 weeks away then. So you could either now bot until hell breaks lose to get the maximum out of your bot or you could just wait and either lose your account anyway (for 6 months ofc) or you could be lucky, nobody can say for sure at this point. My HB isn't running for a week now and I'll wait. Eu of course had a tripwire event as well, we also received the patch. We just didn't have any bans yet, that's why the forum isn't filled yet.
No one specific, just people around forums and your wiki says "However, when a new detection mechanism is activated, tens of thousands of game clients close immediately. This is information to the game owner, in and of itself." So I was wondering myself, as the HB client is now updated one could possibly get away without bans if he doesn't get caught in any other ways now. Well, I will wait without botting now till the tokens are live in EU too and see if the account survives. I'm quite new HB user, but botting scene itself have been my friend since glider days in wow and lot of other automation in other games. I know there is a lot of speculation and it's hard to pick up what is truth and what isn't. Some of the ban reports in US side are quite weird in terms that people say they cannot have been reported but still got banned.
As the Buddy guys have said, it's lesser bad thing that clients get shut down than they get caught using a 3rd party software. And that is true. Blizzard "can't" ban you for shutting down a client. I myself use HB the otherway around, when I play myself I do everything myself and when I bot I only watch it as long as I'm sure it does what it's supposed and leave it there for x amount of hours.
from a post a year or so ago--when the honorbuddy client is shut down suddenly, the client itself has no time to 'clean up after itself' and may leave trace evidence behind. The wow client is closed to prevent any discovery of these snippets of whatever is left behind.
When resolves this problem? [19:42:45.747 N] Wow exited, Honorbuddy stopped! [19:42:45.748 Q] Bot stopping! Reason: Wow exited, Honorbuddy stopped! [19:42:45.748 N] Honorbuddy terminating in 20 seconds.
What version you using? Trip wire isn't active right now so you shouldn't be getting that message if your using the most recent version http://updates.buddyauth.com/GetNewest?filter=Honorbuddy (Honorbuddy: 2.5 r14135 Build 792)
