I love this so far I have the premium have had it for a while. Was wondering if someone could help me set up a Fire and Arcane routine for maximum DPS for raiding. Thanks for any help
Hi Millz I'm Portal Premium users . I'd like to correct some of the Fire Mage Portal on the output cycle error. But I English expression is not good, if you know how to Chinese? Or is there to know Chinese friends can help us translate, convenient for us to communicate effectively.
try to use English to communicate with you @ @ 1.Output cycle Fire Mage does not require the use of Flamestrike even aoe 2.The correct method of using Super Cmbustilon: Inferno Blast x2 > Cmbustilon > Inferno Blast You'll get hurt X4 Cmbustilon damage I don't know you Shi Bushi correctly understand my expression Cheers
I am 681 mage, and doing 25k DPS with Arcane.. Is there any way to higher my DPS? because it is way too low compared to my ilvl.
I'm making some more changes in the next build to resolve the inconsistent 2pc trick which seems to be killing DPS a bit. Which rotation are you using, the standard fire or advanced one? Option on Fire tab. The advanced one pre-casts fireballs before using Pyroblast procs. Fire is very RNG. It's difficult to get it perfect for a routine. Combustion/ignite is a bit of a dumb mechanic. It's due to the mesh not being able to find the correct point to place the PC. Probably need to just use the mouseover macro for this - at least until I can find a way to fix it anyway. Check out the link to the new guide further down this post. Will expand on this further when I have time. Can you post a full, unedited log file please? Ref: How To Attach a Log -------- Started writing a little guide to cover off some of the more common questions regarding my routines; https://www.dropbox.com/s/g27vo00z5v2bpr1/HB Guide - Millz Routines.pdf?dl=0 Just a reminder I won't be around for the next 2 weeks (I'm going on my honeymoon, yey!). Decided against pushing any new updates before I go, I'd rather leave everything stable rather than break something and not be able to fix it whilst away.
Can't see anything obvious in there - looks like it's performing the rotation ok. You'll never get high DPS against target dummies as you aren't fully buffed etc. Are you noticing anything wrong when watching it in game? Your supernova settings may work better like this:
Not really, settings look ok. Could maybe try switching supernova for nether tempest and see how you get on?
any chance to have your updated changes to fire rotation as a beta to test while you are gone? edit: if not all good, enjoy your Honeymoon, hope your going somewhere beautiful
Cheers for the reply. I've tried both the advanced and standard last night and honestly they both seemed to be throwing out the same rotation. Pyro wouldn't be cast unless I had pryo+heating up which seems to be losing me ignite numbers due to it taking some time to get another heating up. Yeah I can see it must be a pain making a routine for fire. I'll have another play with it tonight on dummies and lfr and see if maybe I'm misunderstand how it should be working. Thanks for the hard work
Is there anyone that wanna share their Arcane settings? I make shit DPS with 685 gear.. HC/Mythic i will pay if needed
I'm not sure its possible to get max dps with this routine. I use it and love it, but when I play arcane like you, I don't see anywhere near the dps most people see at my ilvl. I've tried all kinds of settings, but it makes very little difference. What kind of dps are you seeing? At ilvl 678 I see around 25k avg in raid but I have seen much higher from others. I'm not sure where the routine is failing though. What I would say is that I've tested other routines and this one is the best imo, some of the others either are not very configurable, are just a mess as far as the configuration table or just don't do any better. It may just be that people that can get really high dps using a mage have the dexterity of an idiot savant. Also as I've tried frost, arcane and fire with this routine, I believe in my testing that arcane is the best even if its dps isn't comparable with top players, the fire dps is horrible, way under arcane in my testing and frost maxes really low, but I wasn't able to get high dps with frost anyway which I believe is merely a limitation of the spec anyway. For settings, I'd make sure to use my trinkets during burn, make sure you are prepotting, and using one on Heroism/BL/TW Don't waste DPS on settings like spell stealing and polymorphing, counterspell, etc. I'd only set decurse to self, and counterspell healing if you must. Set AoE higher, for example CoC set to Use CoC when X Units in Range 6, High AoE Unit Count 6, and either set PC on Units Near Target 6 or greater, or not, but I use supernova on Units near target 6 or greater as well. The tough part is getting that PC and supernova combo working, as it does a lot of damage when it hits. I would suggest Supernova over Nether Tempest as I do not believe that NT does enough dmg comparatively. I believe there is a bug in Arcane Power as mine goes off at weird times no matter what the setting is. There needs to be more options for presence of mind and Arcane power. It would seem like the best time to use arcane power is at the beginning of burn, but I don't think the routine cares. In the end you will notice there isn't really a lot of options which means the routine deals with timing everything, so if its not getting the max dps, the issue seems to be in there, so I don't think the settings will make much difference. Obviously if the routine isn't blowing its dps cooldowns during max burn, then its not going to do it. Maybe someone else can weigh in on this?
I'm in the same boat as you. I'm at i682 and I am around 27k dps regardless of spec (arcane v. frost) and I've tried every way to optimize the routine that I can find. Other arcane mages in my raid group that are geared similarly are in the high 30, low 40k dps range. I end up trying to say its lag (its not I have a 10-30ms world connect) just so I don't get ragged on to heavily, but I don't think it looks at the T17 gear bonuses or any other gear bonuses (ring) to pop CDs on procs.
This routine is honestly amazing. There are a few factors you need to consider... optimally you should choose when to burst. This isn't recommended by Millz because it's for people that actually know HOW to play their class. Second of all you need to be min-maxing your gear. If you don't have a lot of mastery you aren't going to go very far. Thirdly it comes down to your raid awareness and preposition. How much are you moving in fight? Are you using Icy flows, are you pre-potting, pre-casting, are you flasked/fed with 125 mastery and optimally focus augment runes. There are so many things when it comes to maximising your DPS that this routine will not do for you. You need to use your Brain.lua.
+1 And what was said a few posts up. Disable everything thats not needed and that includes spec's you are not in. I have a settings file for each spec and even for some bosses that have a different requirement like Blackhand. One thing that makes it a lot smoother is PC settings only have the conditions you actually need as by default there are to many options checked because the default settings file is set for every class to use. And some brain power goes a long way. Like on Gruul set you 2 rune of power at your marker then pre pot, pre cast Abl to land when the counter hits 0 then blink to your rune of power. Simple things like that make a huge difference. The truth is if you get a bad start your dps is always going to be crap through the fight because of the way damage meters read that data. Your gear stats now count more than ilvl I'd rather drop 5 ilvls to get right stats than have the higher ilvl. Bottom line you need to know the class and be checking trinket procs ect to get the most out of any routine and know and think about the fights your going to be doing. For fire spec I am lucky to not have any issues with it other than the rng nature of it. I have done bosses when I am doing 10-15k less than normal simply because I cannot get the ignite high enough only to kill boss got to trash pack and do 350k on a trash pack. you need to be able to tell if it's the routine making the mistake or simple rng. I see a lot of ppl having issues with tier 17 bonus and combustion trick if that is you post a log so Mills can actually see what is happening in your case. If you are having a setup issue be specific about what you need help with and how it is affecting you. Just sticking a post looking for a settings file wont work because everyone plays there class different.
Prepot - yes, pre-cast yes, flasked - yes 250 int & 50 int rune, Mastery - yes, all items that can be are maxed, Disabling of non-needed casts like spell steal - yes................ blah blah blah 4pc tier bonus and, where possible, items are min/maxed properly Burst - yes, bursting typically on the pull with the pre-pot, doing an appropriate mana burn rotation, and then starting the routine/bot with Envo; on Hero, same thing, pause, doing a manual burst with a mana burn rotation and resuming the bot with Envo. Have done it this way and done it with the bot running for the entire fight, dps is within 5% of both methods. During a boss encounter I will usually manually burst multiple times when I'm in a spot where moving & casting is not going to affect the burst rotation to maximize dps. Do I expect a "bot" to be at the top of the DPS charts - no - but I do expect it to be doing at least 85% dps of what a manually played toon should be, not 60-70%. Thanks for passing along your considerable knowledge via "your brain.lua" but everything you said was common sense that even someone playing a horde toon would know.
