A lot of threads relative to what? You understand the number of bots is insane right?

No they are not banning like crazy and have not been banning like crazy. The amount of reports compared to the amount of bots running is not even close.

Would anyone have a ballpark estimate on how many bots are on an average server? Like 500, more than 500? Less than 500? ect.

Lol I was going to say what do you call banning like crazy? a few accounts a day. I would think banning like crazy is in the thousands a day or 10's of thousands. If you put that into the % of bots even at 10k a day banning its just a dint.

As for per a server 500 na I would say 10k to 25k maybe also depends on the size if the server.

Yep, just look at how many users are on the forums. If you add that up as just 1 key per account that's a lot of bots. But most people have more than one key/session so there are a sh1t ton of bots around lol.

Also not everyone creates a account on the forums, HB is very easy to setup and get going.

and once a botter gets going, has a good handle on creating their own profiles, there is little reason to come back to the forums. many of us here frequent the forums because we feel we have something to offer to the random poster. whether its help with a simple 'hey delete your settings folder' or maybe post a ban report. or maybe just bored and looking for a quick conversation.

i could even go as far as saying many of us regulars you see here are so casual we could go days without botting and not miss a beat.

i play on illidan from time to time, we have 220k+ players on horde side. i know quite a few people who bot there. out of the very very small percentage of players i play with on illidan, a large percentage of them bot. its random, i dont go hunting down people asking if they bot, i dont care to chase friends on wow. they just show up.

That's probably true. I started botting, because a friend of mine got it. One day I asked him if he ever checked out any of the profiles on the forums, and his reply was "I didn't even know they had forums." So I imagine there's a good number of people who simply never visit or post.

Though for me, I stay active, just because botting "seems" to be an evolving thing. And when something evolves, you keep up with it, or you get fucked over! So I try my best to keep informed of the general botting stuff, so that generally aware of any new issues that may arise. It also helps me understand the environment a bit in the long run. I have a general idea of what "normal" is, so I'm sure when a ban wave happens (if one ever happens) I'll know how it compares to normal. It seems like an average of 1-7 ban reports are submitted on a given day, so when there's 5-7 up and people freak out. I know it's not a ban-wave.

Impossible to say as no two servers have the same population.

Hmm, i might consider to start botting again even tough running 5-man dungeons was profitable and easy i suppose now they watch that too, so i gotta buy WoD :(. Running dungeons was cheap but they make it so that now you have to buy WoD too >.<.

running WOD dungeons requires you to buy WOD.

you can bot any other dungeon with a battlechest. they are cheap, buy a dozen, use a couple at a time. its like the lotto. your gold income is doubled by adding one account. adding more than 1 extra gives you diminishing returns.

and...i suspect being banned 5-10 at a time would bring extra heat on you rather than being banned 2 at a time.

But how do you bot with 2 accounts dungeons....? I mean you need a 5 man group to run Heroic MoP Dungeons for example, how do you run them with 2 accounts? O_O

Banning bots like crazy is something like current status of Runescape where you will get banned and ip-flagged within a few days. I've been running hearthbuddy for ~6hours a day since my join date/purchase date and still haven't been banned, and if you look at the banned section it's very rare like maybe 1-2 people every few weeks.

EDIT:Just realized this is honorbuddy and not hearthbuddy forum. oops :)

Does it feel like you accidentally encroached on that wierd neighbours' BBQ?
You know, the neighbours that've always been there but you just never had any reason to talk to, now you've accidentally become the focus of their discussion.
      Awkward...

I come across other botters on the servers I play on. And probably see a lot more I don't immediately spot as one. I guess in addition to the English forums there are the other language forums here that probably get a lot of visitors too. Given the international nature of botting.
