No when a program is detectable Blizzard would wait weeks or months before doing a mass ban. To make sure they round up enough people and to be 100% it doesn't overlap with anyone that may have not been using the bot.

When program/bot is detected Blizzard would ban every account attached with that bot at anytime not just last 10 days, few weeks ... This is something fishy.

I quit using Honorbuddy about 4 weeks ago but did not immediately close my WoW accounts (I switched to FFXIV/Rebornbuddy). All of my WoW accounts are still active until the current subscriptions expire, and no bans.

...it would make sense if they were just running the detection for the past x amount of days. derp.

I run 3 accounts on 3 separate PCs. 2 of them were banned, one of them not. The one that remains unbanned is running on Windows Vista x86. Both of those banned were running on Windows 7 x64. All 3 accounts were botted identically and all 3 accounts have been active since the WOD expansion.

I get a really strong feeling that there's something of note in the difference between x86 and x64. I cannot accept that big a coincidence.

You have to run the bot on 32bit client of WoW. So I don't think it has something to do with the system or operating system itself although I do find this very interesting.

Not sure about how they detect and what they run to detect. But I know what was with Glider and PQR. They was banning accounts 6 month frozeen because in the past they was botting. So basicly when they detect something they are able to find every accounts related with that what they detected.

In the EULA Blizzard states that they can read what Operating System you are using which includes whether it's 32 or 64 bit (to better improve the game), I think you are suggesting they banned based on people using the 32 bit client on a 64 bit system.

CONSPIRACY THEORY: The Chinese gold sellers paid someone for the information and delivered it to Blizzard in an attempt to destroy their gold selling competition.

Blizz recently added a detection method for 32bit clients. There are other bots out there running 64bit that are not detected. It's clear. EULA doesn't mean shit.

could be something as simple as 'we found files related to hb on the computer'

and use 'exploiting game mechanics' because its vague, and honestly, they own your account and can ban for any reason or no reason at all.

make it clear to the rest of the community, your post is vague

This is not direct detection of course.
Out of the several reasons, it could be a a recent change serverside, somewhere in the last week of April, which probably have revealed something on the WoW clients with bots attached for around 10 days, and all of these accounts have a flag or a set of flags in the server logs, which expose them.

This could explain how the bans were deployed on the accounts, 1 by 1, not all in the same time. Of course, this is not a solid theory, but still a clueless speculation ;)

Something to note, an account I had not even used since February was banned. I botted on it then stopped using it since then. That being said, it seems the detection and logging methods they used had started as far back as then.

Without exposing my source I'm now 100% convinced that this ban wave has been directed at x86 clients in a x64 environment. I have no technical knowledge or experience in things related to programming but at my age I've acquired a huge amount of common sense.

Since HB runs purely as x86 even in an x64 environment it's fairly obvious that the detection of users will relate to this discrepancy........ Why else run the client x86 while the launcher is x64. Read Occam's Razor.
