As for your wife, I don't know. Everything is just speculation. There may have been a certain time that a tripwire was activated that went unnoticed, and she was lucky enough to not be botting during that time, so she was spared.

 

could it also be that its because she never ran a quest bot or any other bot, just a rotation bot and raid with that and manually move?

 

People who only used CRs were also banned.

I've been using my own bot to fish and I got caught too. I guess it's not only HB's problem.
About the ban - I exeggerated a bit with time - been fishing for around 10 hours, so maybe it was suspicious for them and they checked me.
However they suspended my account only for 3 days - "final warning".
I wonder how do they know, if people are using third party software...
I've never used HB, but if they can check the processes running on our computers, maybe random name process instead of standard "HonorBuddy" would be a solution?

Another thing - when I got my account back, my character was standing in other place than I left it for fishing. Why?

what you people don't understand is that a software detection doesn't mean 100% of users will be banned. the detection is only going to be enabled for short periods of time for efficiency reasons, as long as they catch a decent enough portion of the userbase then it is job done, the fact your wife's second cousin twice removed avoided a ban doesn't mean we need to come up with conspiracy theories about what happened.

I can't help but feel like this is all my fault. Main source: I have shit for luck all the time. Anyways. Haven't played wow for three years. Decided to get back on and play with my much younger brothers. I'm married with three kids and not a lot of time so I bought the bot to keep up with them. 3 weeks later hb gets the doom switch. Best part about it? Happened 3 days before I had 11 days off work to actually be able to sit down and play some... Sorry all

 

If it makes you feel any better you really are not important enough for this to be your fault. So 100 000 users being banned had nothing to do with you.

That aside. I recommended to my mate to use the bot as I had gone a couple of years without issue. A week later and bang, his account is banned. So I bought him a new one

Only 1 of my 2 accounts got banned here in the USA. Both are on the same battlenet account so it appears they banned by serial and not by bnet account. Very interesting

Yes they can, unfortunately. Phone companies make you pay for minutes or GB's you did not use. Is that theft too? (Actually, the latter I think it is lol).

 

Thats insane id still file a charge back. If you all think its going to be safe to return when and if Hb gets back going again you are wrong. Please stick it to blizzard file those charge backs and Stop playing. What ever method they have worked for them in stopping you from playing. Next time they will find a way to perma bann everything and thus create a even longer wait. STOP BOTTING STOP PLAYING WOW. If you really support HB then you have helped them get rich and maybe you were even able to make some money yourself. The time has come. Dont go back to wow just to suck on there little thingy more. I myself have been playing since nilla and when they did the 6 month i said ok im 28 time to grow up stop playing wow hence the reason they have made it so dumb down for 12 year old to play with twitter and selfies dumbest crap ever. trust me when i say its not worth it the game wont ever be better or the same as it use to be and i dont think HB will be able to stay up on blizzard. Money is everything and blizzard has way more.

It's the first ban in AGES. Hardly a reason to cry and quit. New account, make it a sub account, you'll keep all your achievs, mounts, etc - just not the toons, gold or items.

I don't know if this has been asked yet or not, bu has any of the other bots out there had bans happen as well? I have a buddy in the UK that was using a different bot, not sure of the name, and he says he's still up and running.

 

google is your friend. then look on the forums of " " bot.. and u will see. others got banned as well.
